Help with Road Trip

Anyone know the best route between Indianapolis and Charlotte North Carolina?

The desert of East Tennessee, South Indiana and East Kentucky make me weary of taking the road trip.

Ideally I won’t have to stop more than 1 night and more ideally do the whole trip in one day. So DCFC chargers are a must.

thanks in advance for any help you all can provide.

yes I downloaded the plugshare app and tried to make a trip but everything I could find was too risky (too long of stretches) or too many stops just to top off on Level 2.

It's a pretty straightforward trip. This is loose plan took less than 5 minutes to put together. Probably 10 hours of driving and ~2 hours of charging (just charge to 65% each time and turn on your heater/defroster to max after 55%). Adjust as necessary.

This is really good. My last concern is... how do I know if your Bolt has the cold weather DCFC update?
When I bought the car in September of this year, my dealership said all the recall/updates had been done.
However, I am not sure if the Winter DCFC update was an optional "only if customer complains" update.

Do you think if I roadtrip at the end of December my DCFC performance will be poor?

You should be able to check with your dealership. Given where you are, I'd think they would be willing to update even without your asking. It also depends on what year your Bolt EV is. The main concern would be, if you have a Bolt EV that's currently under battery recall, the first leg might be a bit far in winter conditions (about 178 miles), so I'd plan for a quick pitstop along the way (maybe 10 minutes tops at one of the DCFC in between).

As for the DC performance being poor, that really depends. If you leave with a warm battery, it shouldn't be an issue, even in winter. Driving freeway speeds and DC fast charging keeps the battery warm. If you do stop overnight, just try to find a place that has a L2 AC charger. That will also keep your battery warm overnight.
