Welcome, Claire. As you well know, BEVs are more suited to warm weather than cold. As mentioned, there are still unknowns as to how extreme heat such as you experience, affects battery life. In any case, at least in Borrego Springs, the range doesn't drop by half for half the year as it does up here in the frozen ass-end of nowhere.

Echoing the "welcome aboard" from my colleagues! I own a 2017 Bolt EV (25 months, 25,000 miles) and have made more than 12 trips of > 400 miles. I am the Secretary of the West Virginia Electric Auto Association and lecture on EVs in the Tri-State area. My particular interest is in charging infrastructure. Tell us of your experiences and ask any question the answer to which is not found in the O.M.

Wait! Didn't she say her name was Clair?
Also, FWIW, Clair (without the 'e') is quite often a male name (whereas Claire is more typically the female variant). But it isn't a hard and fast rule.

Generally, I consider it best not to try to guess the gender of forum members. Just because the forum is about a car doesn't mean everyone here is a dude (perhaps it may be a shock to some here, but women can be just as into EVs!), and just because you think you can figure out what someone's gender is from their name doesn't mean you're right.

I long ago stopped making assumptions about gender for any name on the "Interwebs". Heck, I've even sometimes found it difficult in person. When it comes right down to it, what does it matter? The person is the sum of the content of their brain. The body is simply peripheral support equipment.

Right you are. My bad!
