Well, it was a good 2 year run. Some one hit our 2017 and didn't stick around to tell us about it. Not horrible, but sad for our first ever new car. Also sad that we didn't notice until the dash cam had already overwritten the event (yes, I'll be buying a micro sd card with more storage - not just for situations like this, I've missed other things I wanted as well). I'm curious if anyone has advice/tips/DIY videos they can share on repairing something like this. I'm nervous to undertake it having never done it, and it seems small enough that we'd be better off just leaving it, but I'd like to figure out if it's unwise to leave it, and also if anyone has done this and has tips. I watched this video which seemed quite good and also this one. I also, out of curiosity looked up the replacement part (which obviously I won't need) just to see what the cost would be (almost $550 all told after shipping), and was curious about color selection. Do the parts come without paint? Or is there some way of selecting paint color? Anyway, any suggestions or advice, or links to other videos that you think are better would be appreciated. If I decide to undertake this I don't think I'll do so anytime soon, as I don't have a garage and things are getting colder. But thought the topic would be a good addition to the forum as well. Didn't find this specifically in my searches. I'm also curious about what colors of cars are easier to do this for. Are bright reds and oranges tougher to blend than blacks and greys or more muted colors? Or is the opposite true? Thanks in advance for your knowledge.
