Anybody that's been using enhanced for awhile and knows their Bolt pretty well I'd suggest switching to classic for a day or two just for fun. I think you'll be surprised how much you look for those numbers when you have no need for them, especially kW. It doesn't look quite as nice but the battery percent is much easier to read and overall it's much less of a distraction. (pre 2022 models, I think it's called something else on the new ones)

I leave my 2017 on 'Modern' around town. Only go to enhanced when I travel. Mainly to verify the charge rate. But also to monitor the trend bars while driving. Sometimes I'll adjust my speed to keep the trend bar out of the yellow if my range estimate is on the low side.

I could use a lot more info. After doing data analysis for more than a decade, once I know what a thing is telling me I only need a glance.

Though, whatever. :)

What I would really like is a way to make the usage (kW) match scales and usage with the longer term usage metrics (miles per kWh).

I know kW is instant and kWh isn't, but surely there's some way. Even per second or something - I mean the kW isn't instant either but updates maybe a couple of times per second...

I’m even “laster” than you because still have no idea what you guys are talking about. 🤣
If you go back to page 1, there are screen shots with red circles showing what we are talking about, and in other spots on that first page of results is other people's links to the things we are talking about.

Thanks. I had read the manual and hadn't remembered that. So then before I posted I checked my manual... And missed that too.

And now looking at it as you posted it, I see (and remember) why. I just didn't know what they were talking about.
Hard to see what the manual is referring to with a black and white illustration. So I can easily see how you missed it. It's all good!✌

I'd have been way more impressed if GM had spent a few pennies and put an outside temperature read-out in the upper right hand part of the DIC. You know, that empty space where there's...nothing. The way it is now, can't know the temp when on Google Maps at the same time.
At one point, Google Maps DID show the car's outside temperature, but it went away in one of the updates. IIRC

I enjoy the data too but I haven't recorded much kW data so there's nothing to look at. You should try my experiment, I think you'll see what I'm talking about.
I have Torque Pro and occasionally snag a whole shedload of data and do some fancy diagrams and charts.

It is fun.

I am weird.

I would have rather of had outside temperature, every car I’ve had for the last decade has had this except the bolt - yes you can push the climate button and then return back to your maps or whatever but there’s no reason for Chevy to not have it right on the dash - glaring omission in my opinion
It‘s probably just as well. Chevrolet is not doing well designing thermometers lately. The Equinox EV outside temperature reads 10 or 15 degrees high on hot sunny days. Many owners have reported the same behavior. You can drive for mlles on a sunny 99 degree (F) day and the display might be reading 112 degrees outdoor temperature. It’s so I don‘t pay much attention to it anymore.

It is impossible for them to be "accurate", as it can't predict the conditions of a future drive. Terrain, temperature, weather conditions, speed, and more, there's just too many variables for the car to make any sort of accurate guess.
The Bolt EV/EUV lacks a trip navigation planner, thus it is absurd to ask for a correct range prediction of the future drive when the data shown by the GOM it is based on is the previous drives.
If you combine it with MyChevrolet app (that gets the info directly from the car) or with ABRP app with the OBDII dongle to read the car data, the Bolt EV owners wouldn't be complaining about how OFF are the GOM numbers. They will know what the %SOC at the destination will be. No one cares about the range in this case.
I posted here a message (that it looks like it was deleted) telling people how to approach the Bolt EV/EUV trip planning. I think the recycle bin is a good place to start to find it.

I guess as of this post, I am the “last” to know about this small feature on the DIC. I'll pay attention when I drive the Bolt next.

I will say for long trips, the Bolt's information display is MUCH better than our 2024 Kia EV6's factory information display. Experience and knowledge gained driving the Bolt over 11,000 miles before buying the EV6, made tripping in the Kia much easier. Adding an OBD2 with Car Scanner Pro, which I can display on the info screen of the EV6, adds the data I wanted.

As always, I learn a lot more from this forum, than any other source for the transition to BEV driving. I especially appreciate the early adopters on this forum! Your patience and advice have made the transition fun!

I enjoy that stuff too, I use Car Scanner Pro because it works with Android Auto so you can see the values on the main display, which is ironic considering what I said. It's great to check the real battery percentage and look at the detailed current draw in amps instead of kw values.

I understand the weird part, I was telling a neighbor the other day I made a few spreadsheets to analyze some driving data and their reply was, "that's like Guantanamo Bay for me."

Nevermore Academy is supposedly for high schoolers? Many actors & actresses, playing high schoolers, are 22-25 years old. If they're good looking, they can get away playing younger. However, the black woman Joy Sunday, in the show is..... 27+years old! I really like her.

Oh, Woe to be young again. But, not really. I could have died 40 times over. I love being old. Much better than the alternative. No Woe needed.

Does the app automatically identify the data it's looking at? Or did you have to set it up? That's the thing about Torque Pro, it's up to you to make sense of the data.

From what I can tell it uses the same list of PIDs that were originally sourced from the Volt. I prefer Torque Pro on the phone but it doesn't play well with Android Auto. I use them both.

I may in fact be the last person to notice this, but I like it. It appears to be a sort of "last 30 seconds" or maybe minute of efficiency.

See the little circled bits on the pictures for a "60 mph using more electric" vs. an "in town" section.

So who knew about this?

... yes, I stare at it too often in fact. As it tells me 'if' I'm driving 'effectively efficiently'... the POS green indicating you are doing better than usual. Speed, acceleration etc
