When I picked up my Bolt (April), tire pressure, all around, was 41 lbs (shown on front screen). Now they are, roughly, at 43 lbs cold (summer is here). I noticed today that there is a sticker inside the front door, showing 38 lbs cold for both front and rear tires. Having read numerous...
I set mine to 40 PSI cold, in south Georgia. The highest I’ve ever seen was 44 on an interstate at 70 mph. I have not gone through our hot summers yet so might have to adjust then.
Running mine at 41, which is what I ran the stock LLR tires on my Cruze ECO at before the Bolt. Those were rotated every 6000 miles, and would have easily gone 100k plus, except for sidewall damage to one at 89k.
I run mine at 40PSI all around (checked and inflated when cold/cool - usually first thing in the AM or before heading out of the house for the first time during the day)
Start at the recommended 38 PSI cold and have a very good reason for going +/- Our streets are much too broken and rough to even consider 41- 44 PSI. The higher PSI also decrease traction and make wheelspin come on too readily.
I had them at 40 psi on summer. Now, about 6 months later, they are at 35 psi cold. I need to add more (cold weather).
I tend to keep about 40 psi, or more like 39 front, 41 rear, or 40/42.
