Illuminated Charging Port

Hi y'all,

Just got the illuminated charging port installed by dealer. I know there are aftermarket options, but I would prefer the OEM one since it looks much "native" on the Bolt EUV. Since installing it requires drills and detach of left front wheel (wtf??) it's just not realistic for me to install it by myself, so the labor charge ($112.5) sounds fair enough. (allegedly took 2hrs for them, can't confirm)

Here's the picture of this ICP. No need to plug it in with being unable to align the handle with the port in the dark anymore!

Yes, one of my favorite options. It should have been standard equipment. Looks great at night.

Definitely should have been standard. If I could get one for $100 or less, I'd go for it, but it would help me so rarely that I cant justify what they want for it even on sale prices. It would just be cool factor and then no one would see it but me. But, if you frequently have to charge in the dark, I think it would be worth it.

I just got a motion activated battery light and put it in a tree pointing at the charge port. Works great for me.
The pushbutton activated glowing dog collar thing works pretty well for me, for those who want the utility at a low cost.

I guess when the battery dies in the $30 aftermarket one I installed, I will have to get a new car! :ROFLMAO:
Personally, this is not something I care about as I only charge in my garage.
Just carry a flashlight if you rarely charge at night outside of your garage. I never need to use two hands to plug in.
And for that matter who needs a doormat, just take off your shoes before coming inside. I never need to wear shoes in the house.

The battery on my $6 dog collar is replaceable.
I use my fingers to guide the plug into the car, works in total darkness and is free. Ya can't do that with home outlets as they are always live. Your car and the corded plug are both de-energized until the 2 talk to each other.
