Thanks! I ordered one and he shipped it out next day!
Ben
He sometimes has a few "in stock". It's far cheaper to buy bar in longer lengths, so if someone would post up and get a few people together he can go ahead and order material cheaper and pass on savings. Neither he nor I thought more than 2 or 3 would be sold, but he's made quite a few and now that the program is setup on the lathe it's easy for him to make more.

I ordered from him and the quality of the parts are excellent. We had an issue with the shipment but it was all USPS fault. I was patiently hoping and waiting for the parts to make it( nearly a month) and just as the 2nd set arrived quickly by UPS, (sent to me no charge!), the 1st set arrived, albeit parts missing thanks to someone's mishandling. I sent the first set back. He is certainly a great machinist and a trustworthy\reputable businessman! The bar looks great on my car and have noticed better cornering. Eventually will acquire better tires to help with the cornering but for now, I'm very happy.

Dropped in a note about getting a set of the adapters for myself. Here's hoping he'll still want to make some :)
Sent you the contact information.

I really think if a few people just got together on here and placed an order there would be a discount. I know he buys some stock and tries to make it as cost effective as possible, but even just a few people working together to place a larger order will help. He'll ship them individually, so nobody needs to do any real work other than build a list and commitment from folks.

Too bad the market for these cars is what it is... it would be kind of a no brainer to knock out ~75-100 sets of these you'd think. I mean fwiw, I had a Sonic before this, and it was a super niche market too... but less so than Bolt.

I wasn't willing to put down the cash to make a large run of these. In the end I think I've had around 20 people contact me to get a set and not everyone has ultimately purchased a set.

The reason I wouldn't do it either.

I own a rarer Triumph motorcycle, I had tons of people tell me if I designed a part they'd buy it. SO...I spent the time and money knocking out about 100pcs, I still have like.. 68 of them :)

Got my bar installed, still evaluating what I think of it... but really appreciate @rlhammon for hooking me up with the machinist.
Nice job!

I do appreciate you not posting the machinist personal contact information. The main reason is forums get scraped by internet search robots and his email (which is his personal email) would be out there and spammed to death for ever. I get email notifications when I get a DM here, and I usually respond within 48 hours. For the small volume of requests this has worked well.

Glad you like the adapters. I 3D printed parts from my own CAD and test fitted them on my Bolt before I had them machined. My friend who makes these does this for a living and certainly (IMO) knows what he is doing. Yes they are expensive, and yes there's plenty I could change / update in the design to make them slightly less material, but for a one off part the goal was over engineered for no failure.

Honestly if even just a few people would start a thread and buy a couple sets at a time he could order more material and drop the cost some. I know he sometimes does buy longer bar and such when a couple people have contacted him before he placed an order and steel prices aren't exactly cheap right now... but he does what he can and so far I haven't received a single complaint on the parts (outside of cost).

Hey no problem, totally understand the need/want for privacy and relevant communications. I get hit up all the time for random forum posts from long ago on other car platforms. Less and less now that those cars get older and/or forums fade away. If he wants to sell more pieces, I'm sure he could ... but won't be retiring off it :)

So, I am not sure when I'll have the opportunity to autoX the car given the season. I did take the car out for some spirited driving in an abandoned neighborhood project near me (literally hundreds of miles asphalt in still pretty reasonable condition). I am not a professional or award winning driver, this is just me rambling

Off the hop, just driving the car, the bar has for sure helped with ... the... wobble in the rear? I'm not sure how to describe that, but this car kinda walrus's over bumps and broken pavement. I was worried this might be placebo, but my wife also thinks the car bobbles around less. I think its pretty clear to a lot of us this car would have benefited from a higher rear spring rate from the factory.

On the corners, the car is for sure a little bit flatter... but I can't do a lot on these LRR tires. You get past 7/10 or so and its weight becomes very apparent and the sheer mass of the car just causes a slide no matter how hard I modulate the throttle. That's just a lot of weight xfer to ask these tires to handle. I feel like no matter what I did, I experience front-end slide before the rear wanted to come around on me.

As fun as it would be to get a spare set of wheels and some better tires, that's just not in the cards for me... I do not have the space to store them anymore since moving to a house with a much smaller garage.

Having owned a few cars classed in HS now, and I'm not sharing anything not already out there, I feel like with the right tire and driver you could for sure show up and be "that guy/person" and have fun. There are people who've proven that a few times in this car. That said: there is NOTHING about this car that would make me want to mod it beyond/out of HS and that's my .02. I've been there/done that a lot in the past and it's just not fun to already be an HS underdog, and then go to utterly noncompetitive mod.

Anyone know how to go about getting a set of adaptors or are they out of production? Thanks!
If you need the adaptors and the bar - I have a set for sale.

There never was any production... they are all one offs. If you want to get in touch with my machinist who's made nearly every set out there, PM me here and I'll send you his email. I've tried to keep it off the public board so he's not spammed years down the road if he's not interested in making them at that time.
