It is a good time to love travelling and owning a Bolt.
For 18 months, about the farthest I could (easily) travel from Houston area was to hill country (within return range to Austin).
Electrify America is completing a network that should get you just about anywhere. They are still working out some reliability issues, but getting better.

Welcome aboard, shipmate. I have had a 2017 Bolt EV Premier since May, 2017. I have 22741 miles (myChevrolet: Vehicle Status) on the odometer. I have made over 10 trips of >400 miles (longest one day trip = 520 miles). We are soon planning to take a >800 mile trip over 72 hours (noon day# 1 - noon day#4).
