Is there any way to delete a radio preset?

I like that the radio allows so many presets, but I can't seem to figure out how to delete a preset once a station has been assigned to it. I can overwrite it with a different station, but I don't see how I can make the preset empty again. It's annoying because early on I created many presets. Now I only have about 7 or 8 that I want to keep, but I have about 15 defined. Scrolling through the list is painful using the steering wheel Next/Prev control as I have to click through 7 presets that I would never stop on.

[edit] I did go to the settings in the XM app and delete those "favorites" but they still remained on the preset buttons.

Here's what happens. I had two instances of Bloomberg on Sirius. I deleted the duplicate twice, yet both are still showing. Now go to Settings to manage favorites.

At the Settings menu tap Sirius XM Favorites

Note that that Bloomberg is not listed. Nor is it on the second page. That's because both favs were previously deleted.

As example I try to delete CNBC

You get confirmation and choose delete

Back on the main screen the fav is still there.

When I first got the car I deleted all the preset Sirius favs using a workaround. I just have to recall what the procedure was! lol.

On my 2022 Bolt EV, I had some ghost presets from Sirius (which I never activated). To delete these presets, I pressed the Home button, then Settings, then Favorites, then Manage Favorites. There you get a menu of presets, with option buttons to move, edit, or delete each preset. I pressed the delete button on each unwanted preset, waited for the pop-up to expire, then went to the next unwanted preset. Once the unwanted presets were deleted, I then moved the remaining presets up into the blank spots.

Thank you all for your postings. I have tried most of the suggested ways but they did not work for my 2022 EUV. Anyhow, I stumbled across a sequence that works for me. Apologies if one of the above posts described this technique:

  • Select the station you want to get rid of from the preset button so it starts playing
  • Click the Browse button
  • Click the Tune button (far upper right)
  • Click on the small blue star to the left of the Tune numeric pad to turn it off
  • You will get a message that it has been deleted as a favorite

Voila, the preset button now is unassigned!
