With a 90 KW pack, if the owner slows down to highway speeds, let alone Bolt user speeds, there is no way that this will not get great mileage. They just are NOT stressing this with their target audience.

mechanically I don't think even Jaguar can screw up an EV - there is no complexity to an EV - ICE motors are complex lots of mechanical parts - but EV motors have one moving part and a battery and solid state AC/DC DC/DC components - not subject to Jaguar incompetence…I think the brand will be more reliable than their previous ICE efforts - but I could be wrong.

If you order the Jag, be sure to specify the optional mechanic-in-the-trunk. I don't believe the brand is very reliable...
Almost 50% of the top 16 worst cars manufactured during the 1980's were GM built. And deservedly so.

Jaguar's quality reputation was horrid before being sold to Ford. Ford acquired Jaguar in 1990, and produced much better vehicles, but still not near the best. Tata purchased Jag in 2008. New ownership under a wealthy parent company that could afford to make long term investments in R&D and quality manufacturing. Jaguar now has 'near average' reliability and dependability ratings, equal to Acura and better than Volvo, Subrau, and Cadillac. But its owner satisfaction ratings are strong — better than Lexus. There was a time when Jaguar didn't even make this list at all. (like Tesla's horrid quality now)

My point is we tend to retain beliefs from 30,40, or 50 years ago. Or worse yet, take the word of someone else that holds stale beliefs. I've never heard someone say the Subaru brand isn't reliable. Jaguar is 2 owners removed from that bad reputation of 20+ years ago. So many consumers still believe with every fiber of their being that today's GM is the same as the GM of the 1970's and 80's. I'm sure glad I was open enough to consider today's GM, and not be so blinded by ghost reputations from decades past.

Just opened my Autoweek mag and the competition press section had a blurb on Formula E.

They will be racing Jaguar I-Paces as a companion series to the Formula E.

The I-Pace will be nearly stock with an added rear wing and fitted with a roll cage.

Here's a link to the Jaguar site with pictures for the eTrophy series car: https://www.jaguarusa.com/electrification/i-pace-e-trophy/index.html

Man, I miss shotel around here. That said, comparing a car that's 3x more expensive is silly. Disagree too about the I-Pace looking better than a Model 3, as it has an atrociously large faux grill. A two decade old fad that is only popular because the front area of a vehicle presents the lowest aero penalties for creativity. You'll notice all cars are roughly the same shape now, with the front end being where "expression" is presented.

Tesla's design will prove to be classic while this will become the mullet of automotive design aesthetics.

Regarding battery fires... I've been mentioning that a design that requires 100% perfectly assembled cells when there's hundreds or thousands of them per vehicle to avoid catastrophic destruction is a fail. A short in any 1 cell should not cause the entire vehicle to go up in flames.

It's a gorgeous car and the interior quaility is exquisite but if Lucas Electronics still has anything to do with any system, you're still going to be in a world of hurt. Jaguars are not known for their electronics and this car is ALL electronics.

Your age is showing. Lucas went under in 1996, and the brand has been reacquired several times since.

Jaguar hasn't been British owned since 1990. They were Fords from 1990 until the crash of 2008, when Tata of India bought them. The I-Pace is actually built in Austria.
