I have done the car show and sat in the Bolt, this past weekend I finally got to drive a Bolt, today I finally sold the old ride, and I'm now officially in the market for my new Bolt. Here in NH, dealers are slowly receiving the first few, but dealers in surrounding states have had them for a couple of months. I have seen a few dealers offering $1000 off MSRP in MA and have seen on the boards here, a dealer offering $3000 off MSRP in New York state, so I'm looking to you owners in the Northeast for recommendations on dealers that are willing to deal.

Who in the Northeast is giving the best deal on a new Bolt? I'm ready to travel within reason to buy right.

Who is the right dealer?

Welcome to the forums :)

Check around the forums and sift through the threads, and it always helps to call a few dealers and see if they'll beat each others prices down

Yesterday was the 1-month anniversary for my Bolt.... I love it!
The L.I. dealer where I got my Bolt is still offering $3K off MSRP... as a matter of fact my salesman Jared (their Bolt specialist) called me yesterday to see how I was doing with the Bolt.

Here's their current Bolt inventory, their ph# is at the top of the page... ask for Jared, he took the Bolt training courses, etc... so he's the "Bolt guy" there. I paid the advertised internet price plus $75 Doc fee, DMV plate fee, plus sales tax.... no addons or gimmicks.

I love a good road trip!

OP, seems like a trip to NY is in your future. Might as well call NY-Rob's salesman and see what he offers. For a $2-3k difference from a local dealer to one I had to travel for, I would probably do it. And, since the salesman has followed up with NY-Rob, he's a) genuinely interested in his experience driving the all-electric Bolt EV, and b) hoping that his good customer service earns him some referrals (seems to be working out). Nothing wrong with that. With so many car salesmen ambivalent or even downright hostile about EV's, it's worth traveling for a deal where someone seems to care about what you think.

But that's just my $0.02.

Trying to get hold of Jared

Thanks for the heads up NY-Rob. I have been trying to reach Jared, but messages left on his answering machine and with staff have gone unanswered. He does still seem to work there, but am having trouble making contact.

^ I know he is off on Thursdays, but he'll be there Fri till 6pm, Sat till 5pm and Sunday all day.
I have his business card out in the Bolt, but I think the above is accurate.

I'll shoot him an email if you'd like with your contact info if you PM me.

You might try Massey Chevrolet in Providence RI. They have an EV specialist, are very helpful and enthusiastic, and have a listed inventory of 95+ Bolts. I'm not sure those are all on the lot, but that's what shows on their site.

I was going to visit them to test drive, but I can't get a CT EV discount from an RI dealer, and I can't get an RI EV discount as a CT resident. Catch-22. But my experience with them was awesome.

Re: Chevrolet 112. It’ll be interesting to see if one can actually buy a vehicle at those “internet price” levels.

Why would a NY store want to give away 80+% of his gross (MSRP minus dealer invoice). Did the GM region office promise him more Z06’s if he moves some Bolts.

Is it a bait-and-switch ? Where are those vehicles.. He’s taking a risk but if enforcement is lax, who cares.

Low price deals may require high % loans

I'd look at the offers for $1000 off a bit carefully. Some of these have required you get a loan for an higher % than you might be able to get elsewhere. I paid suggested price with a really low % rate I got from a credit union - still lower than $1000 off with an high% loan. Just my 2 cents...

I bought my my Bolt from Chevrolet 112 last month .... at their listed "internet price" of $3k off MSRP.
My Premier Bolt with Cajun Red tintcoat, Bose and Driver Confidence II MSRP $43,155 it was listed at $40,127 "internet price" and that's what I paid (plus $75 doc fee, $10 NYS Inspection fee and $12.50 Tire recycling Fee). They also applied the $2,000 NY Drive Clean at the time of sale, so it was actually $38,127 plus tax and fees as detailed above.
Not bait and switch....

^ FWIW- I didn't finance my Bolt, I traded in my 2014 Volt and paid the remainder via bank check.

The rest of the story

Thanks NY-Rob for the tip. Jared turnd out to be a very nice guy, but the $3000 off didn't work for people that live outside of NY. $2000 of that figure is for a NY state rebate.

Not to worry, I have a couple other leads in the works!

Thanks for all your support. If anyone finds a dealership that has done them a solid, please let me know.

Woodturner...
Are you 100% sure about those figures?

My MSRP was $43,155 (and still is if you build my exact vehicle on the chevy homepage) it was listed at $40,127 "internet price" on the Chevrolet 112 website... then they also applied the $2000 NY POS Rebate off the $40,127 for a net pre-tax price of $38,127.

I would double check w/Jared regarding the rebate...

Here is an excerpt from my email to Jared's boss Nick regarding the pricing on my Bolt:
ME: "-Does the $40,127 internet price include the $875 Destination charge or any Destination or delivery charge or will that be extra?
-Are you factoring in (re- already deducting) the $2,000 NY State EV rebate that starts on 4/1 in that $40,127 price or will the $2,000 NY State EV rebate lower the $40,127 price to $38,127 before taxes?"

DEALERSHIP: That does not include the NY EV rebate. That you would fill out yourself essentially making the car $38127 plus tax tags/dmv. Destination is already built into the price. Thanks Nick Illuminato

Spoke with Jared

He claimed that since I'm not a NY resident $2000 of that was for the state rebate. Judging by what you're saying I'll try calling the boss tomorrow.

Thanks for your input.

Better off emailing Nick directly vs. calling that way you have it in writing...

Brought home new Cajun Red today

My thanks to those that added in to this thread and especially NY-Rob for his helpfulness. While I didn't go with his dealership, I appreciate his enthusiasm and support none the less.

By the way, THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!!!!
