Sorry if it's been discussed before; I con't locate any forum search function. Today I noticed something new happen in my 2017 Bolt, new at least to me.

While driving in L-mode, and fully stopping at a red light, and with a very slight slope where the car starts to creep along at .05 miles per hour, the parking brake kicks in and drops the back of the car down a bit until the brake is released. Not to gripe about it or anything, but I've been driving in L-mode almost exclusively for almost a year, and I don't recall the brake ever engaging before.

I live in an area with lots of grades where the Bolt will set the parking brake after sitting on an incline for too long. So I use my brake pedal for warning others with my brake lights or use it so the Bolt doesn't set the auto brake.

p. 209 in the manual:
While driving on grades, One-Pedal Driving may not be able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop or hold the vehicle at a stop. If the vehicle cannot maintain the grade while using One-Pedal Driving, the Electric Parking Brake(EPB) may apply to hold the vehicle stationary. To drive again, press the accelerator pedal, and the EPB will automatically disengage.

I never worry about what my brake lights are doing. I just assume GM made it so they behave like any other car. Life can become too complicated as it is, without worrying about my brake lights. If someone rear ends me, I will update you...

It's worth noting that every day numerous people are rear-ended while stopped even though their brake lights were on.

Yep OP my car does this too, even on slight declines. I don't recall when the 1st instance was, but its not new behavior for this particular car. I want to say I have to disengage mine by tapping the gas. Releasing the brake doesn't do anything.

I find it annoying.. I mean listen to us. Its so counter intuitive we're not even sure when its doing it and how it works.
