The Bolt will be on sale by late 2016 before the new Leaf. And by 2017 the "promised" Tesla Motors Model 3 will be revealed, but not sold until late 2017, so the new Nissan Leaf will have its opportunity after the Chevy Bolt and before the Model 3. Anyway, if the new Leaf doesn't have at leats 150 mile range, it will sell as the cheapest BEV, but never the best.

Ah this comes down to what we define as the 'best'. Is best the maximum range, the fastest charge, the prettiest, the most expensive, the most affordable?

I mean the Leaf is already the 'best' selling EV ever...

Nissan should consider trying to make the Leaf cheaper if they think that sales will "crater." Or they can try to move slightly upmarket and just match up price and capability with things like the Volt, Bolt and upcoming Model 3.

That might or might not be the best thing for it. Instead including things to make it a more value packed model could be what's best for them for all we know.

Not sure since I have yet to look into it and give it a true audit but it will come down to what keeps it ahead of the competition.
