I don't think Clipper Creek comes with wifi. I would look at ChargePoint or JuiceBox. Both are great chargers and have wifi for certain models.

I was initially looking at Clipper Creek and Juice Box, but now ChargePoint looks to be the better choice. Any other good 32A options?
Correct, I don't think Clipper Creek does wifi. Also from their website all the Juiceboxes pictured have a plug: "Standard 240v plug, small enclosure, quick-release mounting bracket, and weatherproof for indoor/outdoor use."I don't think Clipper Creek comes with wifi. wonder if this is the same tax credit that I couldn't use back in 2017 because buying the car with its credit ($7500) triggered an alternate minimum tax (AMT) on form 8911 that didn't allow me to claim the credit for the EVSE.Agreed with above, BTW, great time to buy to take advantage of 30% tax credit that just passed!
yes, that was the form. the issue was on line 18 when you subtract line 17 from line 16. My AMT was greater than the net (from subtracting the 7500). line 18 was negative. with the smaller tax credit in 2019, it appears that it wouldn't be an issue anymore for me. But doesn't matter as I can't claim in this tax year. I'd be in trouble again this year because I'm getting %30 tax credit from my ground source heat pump install. that credit is larger than the EV credit!Form 8911 Line 10 says to subtract Line 2 (business use) from Line 1 (cost). When line 10 is negative, put zero and this form is N/A.
Is this the form you are referencing?
BTW, AMT floor and ceiling has been raised, not sure if that helps you or not.

The AMT will affect far fewer taxpayers than it used to. Here's what you need to know.www.fool.com
Ground source heat pump, nice! Would be great if new houses can came with that pre-installed, much easier when you have a blank lot. Trying to convince my friend to install one but it cost so much initially. Yeah, I was on propane too (or should that be propain). That's my main reason for doing it. I've spent $30,000+ in propane since 2006. Painful indeed. I had just enough free land to squeeze in the 4000 feet of HDPE pipe for a 5 ton system. I wish I knew about these "geothermal" systems when we built the house. They had to run conduit and refrigerant lines up and over my roof. Wrote the final check today.Ground source heat pump, nice! Negative, juicebox can definitely be hardwired, search part number JBPRO_40_HWAlso from their website all the Juiceboxes pictured have a plug: "Standard 240v plug, small enclosure, quick-release mounting bracket, and weatherproof for indoor/outdoor use."
Chargepoint seems to be only one that checks all of these boxes.
You are right. Weird thing is I don't see the hardwired or pigtail version on the juicebox site or Amazon. Another weird thing is that website has a clipper creek with wifi called the "juicenet edition." Do they upgrade factory clipper creeks?Negative, juicebox can definitely be hardwired, search part number JBPRO_40_HW
I do however recommend the plug version for whichever one you choose for ease of swapping it out or moving it.

The reason I want hardwired is this will be on the side of my house on a stucco exterior. I thought the extra work of putting a plug there and the water intrusion issues would make it a better choice.
Those are some great deals with the rebate but........"To be eligible for rebates, you must be a residential or commercial customer of Estes Park Power & Communications, Fort Collins Utilities, Longmont Power & Communications, or Loveland Water and Power."Negative, juicebox can definitely be hardwired, search part number JBPRO_40_HW

Depending on the locale, something that's "permanently wired" rather than plugged in might by default be considered a part of the house at sale time, and as such be included in the sale. Of course, this can be remedied if declared not part of the sale in the disclosures. Just don't forget to do this, if you sell and intend to take your hard-wired EVSE with you.Not 100% sure but I believe they may have narrowed the product line down.
I do know that folks have gotten the plug version and just removed it, see install instructions.
A nema 14-50 outdoor socket is very common, they have a hinged hood.
They are common for RV connections, actually if you ask for a RV socket they know what you want.

If you ever need to swap it out or move you will be happy you installed the socket
Then modify it to have a plug on it. Any electrician can do that easily.I hardwired mine and I regret it. Besides the portability this is the reason I recommend the plug version. What happens if you have a faulty unit? If you have a plugged unit just unplug and return. If it is a hardwired unit you will need to call an electrician to remove and then install again. Just get a plug installed!
I have a hardwired external ChargePoint unit and love it. Their customer service is great - I was having a couple of issues with it not charging when first connected to the vehicle. Called them up each time it occurred, and they gave me solutions (usually it was spider webs in the locking mechanism or something like that). But the last time I called (probably my third or fourth in two years) they decided there might be a problem with it, so they sent me a new one and I returned the old one in the same box, all paid for by ChargePoint. As for replacing it, once it's on the wall, swapping it out was a piece of cake - took maybe 20 minutes. Just flip the breaker, and everything was spelled out in very explicit and clear instructions; there was no way of messing up. No electrician required.I hardwired mine and I regret it.
