Hey guys,

My brother just accepted delivery of his Model Y and we’re planning to run some tests.
What we have planned so far:
1) Regan braking distance, with and without ROD.
2) Consumption test. (Planned round trip routes, as of now: Colorado Springs to Denver and Base to Summit of Pikes Peak)
3) Card board cut out test: Pedestrian braking.
4) Charging Speed: 10% to 85%

That’s all we have on the docket for now. Any suggestions or other areas you’d like to see tested?
I think my Bolt will holds is own, if not win in the consumption test and the Regen braking test. I suppose we’ll see

How about the 1,000lb test?
Fit five 200lb adults in each and try to accelerate up a hill o_O

I have both a model Y and a Bolt (2019 Premier). They are both very good at what they do, but they are not comparable vehicles. Bolt is a wonderful commuter car and general purpose use vehicle. The Tesla is better at distance travel.

Kind of looks like this comparison is just to have a reason to get into a debate.

My experience with both EVs show me:

1) Regan braking distance, with and without ROD.

Both vehicles have excellent regen braking. I never had to "test" the actual braking ability of either vehicle (yet).

2) Consumption test. (Planned round trip routes, as of now: Colorado Springs to Denver and Base to Summit of Pikes Peak)

Beats me. The Tesla has more range, but then it also has a larger battery pack.

3) Cardboard cut out test: Pedestrian braking.

Haven't encountered a cardboard pedestrian yet. I'll let you guys know as soon as I do!

4) Charging Speed: 10% to 85%

Tesla, hands down. That's one of the main reasons the Tesla is a superior vehicle for distance road travel use.

While I appreciate the humor, I think this is one unknown that would be good to test and get some comparison results.

I can attest that the feature works, having tested it on real pedestrians. I had a father and son pop out from in front of a stopped delivery van on my left and the system hit the brakes as I was moving my foot.

I tested my Bolt out on a Donald Trump cut out. ( We chose Dump as a joke )
It worked well in the day and night. It’s definitely not smooth though, it’ll just slam on the brakes, Instead of noticing the individual and gradually coming to a stop. I mean, it does say “ emergency braking” after all. Ha
I believe the delay was do in large part to my car debating on hitting that spray tanned s.h.i.t geyser or not.

When purely one-pedal driving, which vehicle extinguishes its brake lights just before rolling to a stop and keeps its brake lights extinguished while in a stopped position ?

(deja vu all over again);)
