Morning jefro .. Actually for about 10 Months were (ev drivers) were paid a $1 bonus per ride . Back to regular rates now. I think they realized it costs me $8 to drive 250 miles and it costs the ICE driver $25$30$45 depending on thier vehicle (even prius driver)

BTW.. Almost 129,000 Miles on Now
As of my last drive on Tuesday here in California, I was still receiving the "Uber Green" payment of $1 per ride, which is no longer charged to the Rider. A recent message from Uber indicated that they stopped charging the rider, as an acknowledgement that Zero Emission vehicles should be supported by Uber.

OneEV: Do you see any capacity degradation on your EV battery with these miles?

My passengers love the PowaPod; thanks for the suggestion!

If you find
No matter who you are or what you want,
They, whoever they are,
Won't let you have it.

Stop asking why they keep doing it
And start asking why you keep allowing it.

Jack, while I find the other 99% of your posts, both here and on the other BoltEV forum, educational and informative, with all due respect, I find this one to be horsesh*t!

What do you propose I do to stop allowing it?!?

Sorry I touched a nerve there. Obviously, you feel you're being taken advantage of. Uber's business model from Day One has been to offload all the expenses onto the drivers. If enough complain about the missing benefits, maybe things could change; good luck.

Problem is too many drivers want to turn it into a JOB instead of a Gig. It's really good just as it is for most drivers. you can easily make $200 Net ...especially driving EV. That would be a normal income , then you have drivers that are nuts working all day and night trying to pull in $800 + a day. You can make as much or as little as you want...it's really up to the driver. Then you have drivers that have no clue, no sense or skill in dealing with the public, their customers and do nothing but ***** and moan

Every Birthday=Off , Every Holiday=offf, everytime your sick=off work...you just dont feel like working.. dont fell sick=your off work.

For working people thats a benefit that money cant buy

after 114K miles I had roughly 6% degradation. Have my new battery couple 3 months or so and ar 128+ K total miles now. getting 265-285 City and maybe 20% highway

How, when and where do you work charging into an Uber day? How does it affect your overall time window of the day?
Now that it's summer I dont need to stop I am getting 270 Miles + range.. winter on the other hand is a pain in the backside ..days with 130 miles range ..It's to the point that it' simply not worth my time to sit and charger at 20-30kW in the winter ... I worked 4 hors max and call it a day.

Looks like the Blazer/Equinox will be getting 300+ miles range and more importantly MOST LIKELY 800 volt charging sytem, that will make even winter charging tolerable

Touched a nerve?!?

You live in California and maybe you have forgotten their promises in support of Proposition 22: which included a healthcare allotment for drivers based upon active driving time; except...

They have totally excluded drivers who are on Medicare, and/or covered by their spouse's medical plan. These arbitrary exclusions saves them millions of dollars in return for nothing of benefit to these drivers.

Complain?!? After the fact? the election's over...

I just publicize it so that the public, including the Riders, know the facts!

My usual Post-Pandemic day is up to a 12 hour window with two one hour breaks. If I hit my weekday daily goal of $250, I might end early. I crank as hard as safely possible on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to hit their minimum Quest bonus which requires 40 trips, which is difficult for me given that I accept the long drives.

The second break is usually at a DCFC charger and I charge for 45-60 minutes and many times, nap, too.

When I full-time drove Uber before the Pandemic a full charge at home was enough to cover my Uber day, with the exception of one day a week that Uber would send me to another County and I would DCFC there before using the Direction Finder to find me drives to come home. That way I had enough juice to cover every ride offered to me.

Now Post-Pandemic and with gasoline drivers turning down long rides because of the price of gas (and the Uber fuel allotment of only $.55 per trip irregardless of length), I am offered and always take the long trips. Now the algorithm knows this and offers me many long trips including to other Counties.

Add on the fact that I now charge only to 93% due to the battery recall (I have not received the GM software update), this need to DCFC charge has flipped my experience to maybe one day a week not needing the DCFC or the 2nd break.

I am trying to put off getting the new battery as long as feasible, so that I burn my 1,000 per week on the old battery, but it looks like I will have to get the new battery installed end of July. Then the new battery increased range plus 100% charging might put off the need for the DCFC's on my 2nd break.

Since March 13th, my mileage has gone from 33,000 to 48,000.

Too many Gig employees confuse the common definition of "employee" with the legal definition.

There is nothing in the law (except the passage of Proposition 22 in California) that prevents "employees" from:

Every Birthday=Off , Every Holiday=offf, everytime your sick=off work...you just dont feel like working.. dont fell sick=your off work.

For working people thats a benefit that money cant buy
California's Supreme Court ruled that Gig workers were "employees" and the State Legislature codified it into law.

Uber and Lyft snapped into action and spent $112 million...

On increased benefits for drivers?

NO: for misleading propaganda to confuse drivers, who then confused their voting Riders, to vote for the Uber/Lyft written Proposition 22.

But alas it is now too late in California and like the old adage says: "be careful what you wish for!"

There are good people in CA. but overall they are as far left as you can go and that is as harmful to good people as anything can be. It's shameful they put those provisions in that harm so many drivers, but not surprising. It sounds like you've worked and learned the system quite well so you are able to work within it while working it against itself to your benefit when/where possible, as it should be when facing the evil of the left. Good luck in your future fight.

For you I'm glad. Just please never move to Texas. We've had far too many flee CA and move to Texas and continue CA voting here. Not good at all.
Texas? Oh you mean the state that has its own independent Electrical grid, but refuses to weatherproof it for extreme cold blackouts affecting the needs of millions of people?!?

Where as California decommissioned a nuclear plant and has not built one new power plant in over 20 years, yet meets its electrical needs with a sensible mix of natural gas, renewable energy sources and millions of rooftop solar panels!

Like I said: We're doing just fine!

Yeah, Texas that failed on that point and I'm not happy with them. Texas that I give a 7 against CA that gets maybe a 5 on best days. But there is Split Pea Andersen's and the view along the coast when FedEx sends you between LA and SF.
