After the December my chevrolet for Android app Update here are my concerns;
The app acts very glitchy on Android Auto. By glitchy I mean the energy assist function has basically never worked.
..... There are three problems. First it doesn't even show up most of the time in Android Auto (energy assist). Second, if it does show up I get an error message in my Chevrolet that it can't communicate with the car try again later. Third, I can see energy assist directly on the Android phone but it shows out of date location and range. This is in all circumstances driving , parked , car on , car off, etc.
....what I have already done to try to fix; #1 . Uninstall and reinstall my Chevrolet on the phone 3 times. #2 . Bought a new micro USB cable. #3 . Called Chevrolet support multiple times - make them aware and try to troubleshoot. #4 . Email Chevrolet both CAC and developer [email protected] no answer back from anyone. Side note; the in car wifi speed is not the best at only around 1.5-3.0 Mbps not sure if that can cause or contribute to the above problems. Also I never did perform the radio update because they couldn't push OTA like the initially promised. I have to go-to dealership. Until then I'm on version 14.4.2. my questions below.
Q1. Has anyone been able to get my chevrolet and energy assist to work consistently through Android Auto and on radio version 14.4.2? Did You need to do any further troubleshooting or did it work right away?
Q2. Does energy assist work any better than plugshare? I personally noticed some of the stations (both level 2 and DCFC) were different between the 2 apps. By different I mean there were different chargers listed on energy assist that were not listed on plug share. I didn't have time to go drive to the ones listed in energy assist to see for myself if the chargers were actually there and working. I'm sure we have all experienced at least a few times making a trip only to find the charger broken or iced.
Q3. Have any of You had any luck working with Chevrolet in fixing this app problem? What step or steps did You do to finally fix the app behavior?
.....A final note on this topic. My experience with the app has so far been very frustrating and not good. I am not optimistic that it will get working without me buying a new phone which I'm not gonna do just so I can get this one feature to work correctly. At the rate things are going I will feel lucky if this is finally fixed by the end of 2019......

my email to GM about the problem;
Hello I have done the following in an attempt to get my Chevrolet to work well with Android auto.
#1 .uninstall and reinstall My Chevrolet on my android phone 3 different times.
#2 . Purchased a brand new Belkin micro USB cable (can handle power and data).
#3 . Updated Android Auto on my android phone.
#4 . Called Chevrolet Customer assistance numerous times.
#5 . Email [email protected] + email [email protected] .
I still have a very intermittent experience with energy assist. I would estimate it only works 20% of the time. The other 80% the energy assist screen never shows up in My Chevrolet through Android auto. IF I am lucky enough for it to show up it will often "kick me out" of My Chevrolet when I try to launch Energy Assist (main vehicle selection screen for my Chevrolet re-launches). Then when I go back into the My Chevrolet app the Energy assist screen is no longer seen!
Please advise.

I see no way to "send logs" to GM. I have found GM to be generally indifferent about the software glitch. I have the feeling Google Maps will improve quicker regarding EV charging locations than GM's My Chevrolet.

It appears to be worthless, does not show charging stations.
I checked the app last week, it only shows EVGo stations. Best overall app to use is PlugShare. It's pretty up to date and shows you all brands and you can select NEMA 14-50 and find RV camps to charge and sleep over night.
