I am now on the 10 year free plan.

In addition to the Vehicle Status range, charge status, tire pressure, efficiency and odometer I have found some additional free functions.

Last night I did a plug in, remove plug, and plug in again to get the Bolt to do an immediate charge instead of the programmed departure time charge. I was surprised that I received both a text message and an email telling me that the "Bolt EV is not charging do to an interruption." (This was due to my unplugging to get the immediate charge initiated. When you use departure charging, the car does a very short charge and then suspends until it is time to start the departure charge.)

I have activated the Driving Activity app part of My Chevrolet. Now I can track where the car is, has been, etc. if I select the "More Trip Detail Views" and the Map function. (You will need the PIN you set up when you activated the My Chevrolet app to access this information.) This could be very useful if the car is ever stolen. I have verified that this function works even when the car is not connected to my WiFi network.

What about remote start/pre-condition function? Doe that still work on the free plan?
They told me that would cost $9.99/mo just to get that feature after the free trial period.
I just verified that Preconditioning, Lock/Unlock and Horn & Lights functions all work with the free plan. Note I have a 2019 with 10 years of free service. I have not set up KeyPass.

Not for me, you must be lucky (or a mistake on Onstar's part). 2018 here purchased in June 2018-my preconditon-remote fob only works with keypass when in range, Onstar quoted me $14.99 a month for remote services. It seems like everyone has different results with Onstar...I think they are confused

I also have a '19 and am on the 10 years of free service as of this weekend. Everything is still working as you mentioned. Hopefully this isn't temporary.

FWIW, they'll offer you the minimum plan for $10/month rather than $15/month if you ask them.

Does the Vehicle Locate function on the app main dashboard still work on yours? The app stopped providing that function with one of the later app updates. It now says "Upgrade Now", even though it used to work (for several months) after my "subscription" fell back down to Free Basic.

Mine says "Upgrade Now" as well. All my Key Fob functions appear to be working though.

I do not see the Vehicle Locate function on the app main dashboard on my screen. I can locate the vehicle bu updating the My Chevrolet and the using the Chevrolet Smart Driver function and the More Trip Details Views button. You do have to have your PIN to get the location.

Can someone tell me more about the plug-in, remove plug, then plug-in again? I have the car programmed to charge after midnight b/c of low rates. But once in a while one needs some juice in the day. The method in the orig. post seems a little more convenient than going through the temporary charge menu.

Does anyone know what OnStar services I'm supposed to get for free with a 2017 Bolt LT? I believe it's 5 years free something, but I'm not sure what. I'm in the trial phase of a few months of free everything, but I'm hoping the key fob functions and charging status stays active without having to pay. I like to cool down the car in the parking lot at work via the app about 5 min before I leave in the summertime.

It's in the manual (pg 235 for me):

"To temporarily override a delayed charge event, unplug the charge cord from the charge port and then plug it back in within five seconds. A single audible chirp will sound and charging will begin immediately."

In the "My chevy app" all the functions on the "key fob" tab as well as all the functions on the "vehicle status" tab.

On Android devices, scroll all the way to the bottom on the main dashboard and select "Edit Dashboard" to select "Vehicle Locate" to appear there. It was on by default when I first started using MyChevrolet, and worked flawlessly until a couple of months ago.

I just tried your suggestion, and it works! Heh, heh, a way to get "Vehicle Locate" without the Upgrade. Next time my wife is out and about, I'll check to see if it gives location on the fly. In the first weeks of ownership, I used Vehicle Locate a couple of times to follow my wife on a trip where she was sketchy on the route. She wasn't real confident on using nav through CarPlay, either. I called the car when she missed a left turn and went the wrong way, to tell her to turn around and turn right to get back on track. Call me Tom-Tom.

Thanks!

Shhhhhh!

I found the Vehicle Locate (in small print) and it is marked in large, bold print Upgrade Now.

I have not tried to use the Driving Activity in real time. But I do know you have to update the Driving Activity to get the current status. So I don't think it will do real time tracking. I see you have an apple iphone, so you can use the tracking app for apple phones to do real time tracking. My son and his kids use it to track the location of each other when they are trying to meet up.

I was thinking along the lines of using the Driving Activity tracking if the car was ever stolen.
