After 7 years of owning a 2014 Chevy Volt (best car I’ve EVER owned) I recently purchased a 2021 very well equipped Chevy Bolt LT (list price over 41,000, OTD price just over 23,000). My first impressions are very positive and I’ve already used fast charge stations to complete a trip to Atlanta and back (over 500 miles round trip). Chargers were easy to find and readily available. There are a few small items with the Bolt that I’m a little disappointed.
1. You can’t remotely lower the windows (like my volt could). This was a great feature if you live in a hot summer climate.
2. It’s crazy that Chevy ships the Volt with the security system armed to go off if the doors are locked and you remove the charger. I sometimes work the 430am shift and I’m sure my neighbors didn’t appreciate a car horn blaring at 3:10 in the morning. I couldn’t figure out why until I went to this forum (thank you guys).
3. Some of the interior panels (the grayish/white checked design) look cheap and the drivers seat started to cause right leg discomfort on my long trip to Atlanta.
4. No home link was a surprise but a 12 dollar garage door opener solved that problem.

Overall, however, with these items aside, the car runs great, is quiet, has a nice comfortable ride and compared to my Volt is much easier to access and sits up a lot higher. The new safety features are nice. For the price paid I think it’s an absolute steal!

I live in a hot climate and find the remote start via the remote keyless entry transmitter (aka key fob) to be quite handy.
I agree but usually I remote start less than 1 minute before getting in my vehicle and it’s still hot. With the volt I could remote start AND lower the windows which made for a much cooler entry. Just because some (Darwin award) winners accidentally opened their windows was no reason to cancel this excellent feature. If we follow this logic you could get rid of every single convenience feature. There’s always been stupid people and there always will be.
