My Purple seat cushion is sooooo comfy.

Usually, I find the 2019 Bolt seats to be fine for up to an hour. But after that, it just isn't enough, and I find myself shifting around trying to get comfortable. A while ago I bought a Purple Simply Seat cushion for general use, and on my last 4-hour round trip I decided to try it in the car. It doesn't make the seat any bigger, but wow!, what a difference! The seat bottom felt luxuriously comfortable, and my butt was happy the whole trip. It is 1" think so it does make me sit a bit higher, but there's still copious headroom. I only had to readjust the mirror a bit. I think an even thinner pad would do the trick. I won't be using for everyday driving, but it's definitely going with me on any trip. I got mine directly from the Purple store, but one of the Asian knockoffs might work just as well.

I've owned about a dozen vehicles since I started driving in 1977, and that description applies to just about every one of them.

If You use the seat heater does the cushion eventually get warmer also?

I haven't tried that. The cushion is a coarse open mesh and does collapse down some at pressure points, so I suspect that I would still feel the heat, but it would probably reduce conduction somewhat.

Sly, hows the cushion holding up? Did You just go with a bottom cushion or did You get a back cushion also?

I bought the Purple Simply seat cushion mid October '19. I use it everyday in a normal chair, and on longer trips in the Bolt. I have not noticed any degradation in the pad so far. It hasn't compressed down at all, yet. My guess is that the fabric cover, which isn't required, will be the weak point, though it is holding up just fine so far. I only got the seat cushion, not one for the back. For me, the Bolt seat supports my back fine.

My rating Original non padded Bolt seat = D- , with purple = B+(not an A because it's more stuff to buy and add after the fact) Rating on Purple itself = B- (gets knocked down for 3 reasons, price is high, included cover seems flimsy, no color options for covering). Overall so far a good upgrade and will help on long trips or charge stops.
