I don't know if this is the correct place in the forum to post this question but......

Does anybody know if under the Energy Assist - Plan your Route section of mychevrolet app , If I mark my home as a Charging Station will other app users / owners of other EV cars will see my home as a charging station? or does the app registers the "charging sation" just for me?

The reason why I ask is because the moment the Battery reaches an estimated range of about 80 miles left I get alerts on the app telling me that I have to look for a charging station since the range is getting low..... even if my car is parked in the garage (not charging). So I want to find a way to tell the app that if the car is in my home it is OK even if it only has 15 miles left of Battery.

Any help / pointer will be appreciated.

PS: also, I am not getting any e-mails / alerts when the car is finishing charging. Any idea?

I have never used set a home location since I never use the Level 1 (120V) charger that came with the Volt which is what home location is primarily for so you can default to [email protected] instead of the slower [email protected] at home.

I also have never used the Energy Assist option and haven't marked my home as a charging station.

But I can confirm that SMS alerts when my Bolt is charging do work. I have OnStar Basic and it still sends me SMS alerts when I disconnect my Bolt before it's full and when it is full.

Thanks Quirky, I do have a Level 2 (220V) charger at home that I bought when we got our Leaf 2015. And when I press the Mark as a charging station I do get the option to select the type of charger, it is very easy to do but I haven't done it because I don't want other EV drivers to show up on my garage door ready to charge :D (I mean, as a good Samaritan I would help a one time stranded fellow EV owner, but I am not in the EV Charger business)

I was not getting e-mails until I marked the SMS checkbox to send alerts to my cell phone. That's weird, it seems marking SMS option is required for the app to send you e-mails, when unchecked the app won't send email alerts (and I checked spam, etc) anyways I am getting 2 alerts now (via SMS and email)
