Hi everyone! We just got our 2017 Bolt EV last Monday and so far, are loving it! We had a 2013 Volt, and loved it too, but the battery range (38)was just too short, and this time we wanted to go fully electric. I must say the only thing that I’m not clear about is the “fully charged” status. It has never been 238 Miles. Once it got to 213, but our Volt used to read the full 38 miles after a full charge, and sometimes as high as 43 miles. I don’t understand. It was a demo model, and was driven home by the dealer’s general manager. If he had an “aggressive” driving style, and the car is remembering it, how long will it take to get our other 30 miles added to the range??

Congratulations on your new Bolt. If you're using any heat, you're likely not going to see the 238 average as an estimate on the guess O'meter. It will change as winter passes. But if you do lots of highway driving, you might not see it either.

Congrats on your new Bolt! Don't think you'll get 238 Miles unless you hyper-mill and coast down hills a lot. Though I'm sure some people here has hit that range mark.
Once the weather warms I'm going to try and see how hard it is to get 240 miles out of a "tank". I don't actually plan on driving 240 miles between charges, but I'll see if I can get 120 miles from half a charge, or 180 from three quarters. Without being too silly. Eg: still using the radio and climate control (set modestly, but on if needed to be comfortable).

I think of Brian's 313 mile drive on a single charge as hyper-miling: https://bro05.blogspot.com/2017/06/drive-across-state-of-maryland-313.html
Wonder if he had an electric scooter in the back just in case???

I don’t consider 240 miles hyper-mileing. 300 miles, I do. I have made two round trips, each of the four legs being 240 miles. I set the cruise control (on the interstate) at 58 mph, stayed in the right lane, and used A/C set at 74F. We made it easily. I was sure of the availability of the EVSE at the destination and knew how to drive right to it. I don’t like to drive with such little reserve, but it is nice to know you CAN do it.

This depends entirely on your driving style. If you have a foot that's heavy on the brake and accelerator pedals, then your comment may be appropriate. But most people with a more relaxed driving style won't have any problem reaching 238 miles of range in decent weather conditions.

Kinda late on this thread but congrats on the Bolt. I grew up in J'ville and worked in Beulaville so I had to say hello. I just got my '18 Bolt today and I love it.
