How about a thread tracking error detections by the new diagnostic software, resulting in pack replacement?

Post if your battery is flagged by the new diagnostic software.

Here's mine:
Date: 6/14/23
Diagnostic Code: U3636
Miles driven before detection: 366
How long to get new pack: 2 weeks
Car Build Date: 04/21
Notes: This was a replacement pack. Previous pack had no issues.

AdrIan,
I blew past it at 60mph. Did you say a REPLACEMENT pack got flagged in 366 miles! Incredible!!!o_O Gotta hand it to the quality control guys at LGChem. Management at Chevrolet must be fit to bust.
My Bolt (original pack) will get the new firmware installed just as soon as it gets out of the body shop. As of last Wednesday, they have had it longer than I drove it after purchase.

Yes. Original battery had been fine. We got the replacement battery just as the new software came out, so we got the software also, and it flagged the new battery as bad.

2022 Bolt EUV premier with sun and sound.
Battery replaced under recall at 280 miles.

I took ownership at 308 miles but was unable to charge past 80%.

Drove it for a week and had a service scheduled to reflash the firmware for the battery to hopefully correct the issue.

Morning of the dealer appointment, I get the propulsion power reduced warning at 891 miles.

Took 9 days to get a new pack installed as GM engineering were apparently checking stuff out for 2-3 days. Code U3636, replaced HV pack and reflashed ZFA multi module.

My software was only in for a few days on early 2020 original battery. AC stopped.

They put in what looks like a new case/pack. No sign of dents or scratches so at least that seems OK.

Coolant a bit high.

Cruise didn't work (yuck yuck yuck). I assume fuse or switch bypassed. Had the nerve to say there was nothing wrong. I think I know better from reading chevybolt.org.

Was told I should post this here from a different thread.

Just posting this for future reference if anyone has same problem.
P1E00 fault code and AC not working with "propulsion power is reduced" warning and the "Service vehicle soon" warning light on. Torque app says 0 watts being drawn when AC is on. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting battery, turning car on and off 10 times. This happened after level 2 charging to 80% at my house last night.
Car is under warranty so I'll drive 40 miles to the nearest EV Chevy dealer and have them fix it.
I will try to keep you guys informed.
Also have a U3636 code.

This is after getting the new "Super Detecto" software about 2 weeks ago.
2020 Premier Mfg. date 08/20, milage 27903

We experienced the same thing last night on our 2021 Premier. We had the software update done 12 days ago. What happened at the dealership?

Supposedly, if you press the blue OnStar button if you get a ! yellow car warning light, you can get a report of the DTCs sent to you.

My 2021 Bolt EV

Build date: 1/21 in plant 4

Just north of 500 miles after software update car quit charging, reduced propulsion and same error code appeared.
battery replaced after 8 days

GM NOT resetting warranty!
Started a case with concierge.

Claiming this was a regular vehicle transaction under warranty, not a recall issue.

Having the capacity reduced for almost the entire time I have owned the vehicle (purchase 7/21) and now this has soured me tremendously.

2020 Bolt EV Premier Date: 8/9/23 Diagnostic Codes:
U3626
U3628
U362C
U362E
U3636
Miles driven before detection: around 500 How long to get new pack: Not sure if I'm getting one (it's being towed today) Car Build Date: Not sure - will need to check when I get it back

For my 2020 model (original battery):
Date: 7/17/23
Diagnostic Code: U3628
Miles driven before detection: 235
How long to get new pack: still waiting 4 weeks
Car Build Date: 02/20
I got my car back today, so it took just over 4 weeks to replace the battery. I asked the service advisor about the new warranty and she said it was 8 years and 100k miles. I don't have paperwork, though.

I also asked if they were getting a lot of these batteries flagged by the new software and she said around 40% (!) although the sample size isn't large yet.

Happy to hear your warranty was reset.
I’m still working on getting mine resolved.
If 40% is anywhere near the failure rate, that’s alarming.
My car was the first one with the software update that had to have the battery replaced at the dealership I went to. But they had only done under a dozen or so.
Side note, it is awesome to finally have full capacity charge after 2 years.

Also posting here from another thread. '20 Bolt, dont know build date. Purchased "certified" barely a week ago with 9300 miles. I maybe drove 250 miles before getting limited propulsion/ service needed messsge and no AC. Earlier in the morning i did charge up to 80% at a public DCFC (2nd time, and only becuase dealer didnt give me the factory evse charger). Car drove home fine, but gave me service message 2 hours later. Interestingly, my chevy app states all diagnostic checks are good, including high voltage lithium batt. Car says otherwise; Onstar gave me a U3620 code. Stealership not helpful, even refusing to assist with loaner or rental. Claims battery was changed in June (im guessing theyre confusing that with software update), and i have to wait several days for the lone EV tech to even look at it. EV concierge non-existent on the weekend. Will update if there's progress...

Although I'm somewhat relieved about the prospect of a replaced battery, my frustration stems from the poor customer service received thus far. And it's now coupled with all the experiences I've been reading throughout the forums concerning turn around-time and repeat occurrences.

I'm a huge GM fan, being a Poncho guy having owned mostly Pontiacs. I still have my '09 G8GT, and greatly lament the sale of my '00 ws6 TA and '76 Formula. I'd always back their products, even with their terrible design flaws. But I'll never stand behind their indifference regarding customer satisfaction

Date of software install: 7/20/23
Date of error occurring: 8/24/23
Diagnostic Code: U3636
Miles driven before detection: Approximately 800
How long to get new pack: Unknown, dealer service department is overbooked
Car Build Date: January 2022
Notes: This vehicle was delivered with a new/replacement pack.

Update 23 AUG 23. Dealer said I need a new battery and they will arrange a loaner for me. No timeline yet on the battery and we'll see on the loaner
In conclusion they replaced my Battery :)
They did not reset my warranty. I called the EV concierge hot line. No luck
They said they will reimburse my rental. Time will tell.

I guess I'm still envious of those who had their Battery replaced after 100,000 plus miles for free with a new warranty. Good for them.
I feel it's unfair to those of us who had our battery replaced with no reset warranty, and just plain horribly unfair to those who don't get a battery at all.

Dealer wouldn't provide a loaner vehicle. ETA on battery is 1-2 weeks and I can't drive my car in the meantime.

EV Concierge offers to pay $50/day for a rental. Ofc, I can't find a rental that price, although I found one close enough and I guess I'll just eat the difference.

The fact that a replacement battery also has a defect tells me that GM has NO IDEA what's going on in those battery plants. I regret replacing my wrecked Bolt with another Bolt.
Hertz often have good deals on EVs lately.
I suspect yours and my replacement batteries had no defect, and the new diagnostic software is too sensitive.
This could cost them more in the long run than just replacing everyone's battery.

Maybe my turn! Charged overnight at home to 80%, started car this morning and received a "Propulsion Power Reduced" message on DIC. Scanned with TorquePro and got two codes: P1E00 and U3636. I called my local dealer and I have an appointment at 8am tomorrow. I drove the car a short distance; max power was 80 kW and max regen was 33kW.

Edit 2 (to include data per OP):

2020 Premier - 33764 miles
Date of software install: 6/20/23
Date of error occurring: 9/7/23
Diagnostic Code: U3636 and P1E00
Miles driven before detection: 3446
How long to get new pack: 2 weeks
Car Build Date: 11/2020

Update: 9/8 8:30am 9/8/23, service writers have no clue. He was much more focused on the AC not working than the U3636 code. EV tech probably won't look at car till this afternoon.

Update 2: 9/9 Dealer confirmed battery replacement. No estimate yet on timing.

I have to give kudos to Walker Chevrolet in Franklin, TN. This morning they told me it will be 1 to 2 weeks before the battery arrives AND they gave me a 2023 EUV Premier Redlin Edition to drive while waiting on the battery replacement. And it had less than 300 miles on the odometer. And I love the adaptive cruise control!

They'll never find the "Goldilocks" zone for software detection on-the-fly like this. That's even assuming that their software can detect a significant amount of defects that have a high probability of leading to thermal runaway.

Great; this may mean I will have to take another day off of work so that they can take another day to install "new and improved" software.

Yes, after you've limped home with "Propulsion Power Reduced", made an appointment, limp to the dealer, they have no clue and keep it for a few days, then you get the advanced diagnostic software V3.0. Rinse and repeat...
