Hi,

I don't have a Bolt yet, but am looking for an EUV.

My current car is a 2010 Toyota Prius, which is sitting in the shop waiting on replacement parts after the catalytic converter was stolen. I was going to get another Prius, but I do not want to go through cat theft again. Plus I don't drive all that much (about 5K miles last year).

I am a little concerned about the difficulty in finding a Bolt to buy though.

Thank you for all the great information on these forums.

Welcome to the forum.
I haven't checked Houston area dealerships....sometimes you get lucky.
Maybe you can also consider a used Bolt? Mileage on EVs don't mean as much as a gasoline car because there's not much to wear out.
Keep in mind there's currently a $7500 tax credit on a new Bolt/EUV if you qualify, and a $4K credit on a used one, but watch the requirements. The IRS said they would rule in March about what's eligible and what's not. Well...it's March...no ruling as of 3/21.
Must have skinny crooks in Houston.
At 5K a year might get a used i3? They won't go very far if you only get BEV. Plus maybe $4K freebee.

I'm also in Houston, and have a Premier EUV on order after driving a Toyota HiHy the last 6 years. We love it but wanted to go all in for electric with the prices dropping, tax credits, Chevy incentives and the Infrastructure Bill giving a boost to the charging network. I've checked dealers' inventory online here and found quite a few "in transit" but all in the LT trim. The few Premier trim models I'v seen were black or some similar dark color. Are you kidding me? In Houston's heat? I've read here that some who have orders dating back to August are just starting to see deliveries. I'm hoping that's because of the backlog caused by supply chain or semi-conductor shortages and that our order will only take a couple of months like the dealer estimated. I think it'll be worth the wait.

Did you go order through a dealer here in town? Did they try to charge you well over the MSRP or tack on extras? The Mac Haik sales guy is calling me every day after I stopped in there last weekend, but I am avoiding him until I figure out the car buying landscape these days and what my approach should be. Thanks!

What the heck is GM thinking with the black seats on the EV?

Went to Parkway on 249, WJ, after contacting a few dealers by email and reading reviews. No high pressure or add-ons. I used Chevy's online Build and Price tool to configure it exactly as my wife and I wanted. $1000 down on the MSRP with a $500 discount for teachers, and waiting. Now if I could just find some after market fog lamps!
