Howdy y'all!

(I was going to post some pictures but I need a higher post count first, so picture a Grey Nightfall Bolt LT)

I traded in my 2010 Prius for a 2018 Bolt LT. I love this car! So much fun to drive and no more gas station visits on the way to work! I have an 80 mile round trip commute to Austin so the Bolt range is perfect for 2 round trips with margin for side trips.

I installed a Juicebox Pro40 EVSE at home, conveniently, we already had a 50a RV outlet for the 5th wheel .
(Picture a Juicebox Pro40 mounted to a wall here)
It was too hot and too much work to drill the stone for the 4 bolts the handle receptacle on the wall needs, I'll get to it later. Between this and he City of Austin Energy program with ChargePoint ($25/6 mos for unlimited charging on stations affiliated with them) I have plenty of cheap energy around. My city charges 10 cents per kWH.

Looking forward to many years of fun and knowledge from other Bolters! :)

Congrats on the Nightfall Grey! Amazing you only have a 80 miles commute. I thought central TX always had 100+ mile round trip commutes.

Welcome to the Bolt Asylum!

Before I escaped Texas, I went to UT, but back when Austin had a population of 100K, not 1M. I was back recently visiting a daughter, and all I can say is your Bolt will be right at home in stop-and-go traffic.

We traded in a 2010 Prius last year for a 2017 Bolt and the memory of that Prius: total slug of a car, in comparison.

Enjoy.

Welcome aboard. Do you know how your electricity is primarily generated? (I was watching a show in a doctor's office Friday about a town in Texas that is primarily wind power)

Yes that is my town, Georgetown. I have a personal beef with them, they tout solar and wind power but offer nothing as far as rebates for residents to go solar.

Welcome Dave and make sure you submit your application for the $2,500 rebate to the State of Texas.

Enjoy your Bolt! It is perfect for zipping around in Texas!>:)
Well, I found one argument for not having purchased my Bolt in 2017. That $2500 rebate was indeed just resurrected.
Welcome to the Texas Bolt club Dave!

Small world.

I think they mayor's position is that he is touting whatever is cheapest to the town. I think he's making the mistake of looking at the short term when it comes to solar. That's my guess why no rebates.
