Just brought home a 2019 LT in Shock on Saturday. Love the car and climbing the learning curve on all of the features. It is our second EV with a 2012 Leaf now in our son's hands as his 25 mile daily commuter.

Can someone explain what goes away when the 30 day OnStar account ends? I'm using the MyChevy app and kind of like seeing what is happening in the car from afar, or at least from the living room.

I never signed up for onstar... they never had my credit card info and mychevy app works great via the cell phone link. I think it is good for 5 years. I have heard of some who sign up for on star and when the trail is over, On Star kills all of the link.... which requires you to call and pester them to get them to turn the free part back on. Best not to play their game. There is a way in the mychevy app to find chargers, but the one I located on the map told me it was incompatible with my car.... so why is it on their map???? plugshare app on your phone is much better.

As Jack just said, drive in L as much as possible and use the "jake brake" lever on the left backside of the steering wheel. You should *never* have to touch the brakes. ever. Be aware that in icy conditions, L can lock up the front wheels and cause a slide. Need to drive in D in poor road conditions.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Bolt.

I'm no expert on OnStar. You're supposed to get a free at least 5 year (some report 10) Remote Key Fob add-on as OnStar calls it. Many forum members report that their Chevy app telemetry still works fine after the trial. There are some reports of that breaking after the trial ends and requires a follow up phone call to OnStar to reactivate. And that phone call sometime requires a request for a supervisor that knows about the electric car and this additional add-on.
