Hi there everyone,

New bolt owner here in CT and went to two nissan dealerships (one in east providence, RI, the other in Wallingford, CT) with free DC fastcharge found on plugshare. At both dealerships connected to Bolt and the unit gave me an error. wondering if anyone has an explanation or success story as it seems Nissan dealerships are the only free DCFC I can see...at least here in the northeast.

best,
Paul

Well, since he said "found on plugshare", I ... went to plugshare and looked.

Barberino Nissan in Wallingford, CT and Stateline Nissan in east providence, RI both list a CCS DCFC port as well as CHAdeMO, so they probably have dual units.

And the OP comment that "Nissan dealerships are the only free DCFC I can see...at least here in the northeast" ...

When *I* look on plugshare, I see more than just Nissan dealers offering free DCFC (in/around/between the general areas you mentioned) but there are quite a few Nissan dealers. And the free units have much lower success rates, in general; for example, Stateline Nissan's "plugshare score" is around 2.6, which is *horrible*.

I echo what a different poster said (or implied) : we can't really help you without knowing what the error was, and the first thing to do in any rate is to ask at the place where the DCFC charge failed.

Greetings,

I did not think to take a picture, but what happened was I connected the car, hit start, and as the unit connected to the car it stopped, I believe said there was a communication problem, and then asked me to reset the connector in the charger. Interestingly, both charger units (despite being states apart) had the same timing, response and messaging. If I am nearby I will take a picture and post it.

I called both dealerships and both units looked wonderfully shiny and newish and each of the representatives seemed equally clueless as to what I was referring to, asking, and could not answer.

Here is a picture of New Haven CT and free DCFC and I think there are few stations near me, but I guess it is relative:

Hi all!
I went back to Barberino and after following the instructions on the DCFC accurately and completely, it worked fine. It was a bit counterintuitive to hit the red Stop button to start. But alas, it worked!
Best, Paul
