Yes, the best efficiency is having no regen when you lift your right foot. But this is not possible in the Bolt EV, unfortunately.

Regen can only regain a fraction of the energy - probably less than 50% at best - so when you want to carry speed, then feathering the accelerator only putting barely enough power to keep going, is the best. Think of how you would ride a bicycle - and do that.
Agreed, and totally understand that the most efficient driving in the world would be to never touch a brake pedal or have regen slow the vehicle down, but the reality of living in a city with lots of cars is that (relatively) rapid acceleration and deceleration are necessary and unavoidable.

I get >11 kw power from CC slowing down my 2023 EUV. See the below image. (Sorry it's blurry...) Perhaps the 11kw limit is only for cars with adaptive CC? (Mine is a LT trim - no adaptive option.)

@garyd9 odds are the GM engineers fixed their mistake on the '22 and that's why it's working for you. Perhaps there's a software update available for mine, but I haven't heard of one.
Either that or AEB uses very high amount of regen, because there's a line of trees dead ahead.
