So I get this offer in my inbox today.

I guess this could be a deal if you enter into the unlimited data for $25/mo for 2 mo costing $50 then deduct the $50 value of the (VISA?) eGift card... so for net price of $0 and you get 2 months of Essentials Plan + Unlimited Data.

Alternatively, enter into the unlimited data for $25/mo for 5 mo costing $125 then deduct the $50 value of the (VISA?) eGift card... so for net price of $75 and you get 5 months of Essentials Plan + Unlimited Data (@$15/mo).

I just got the essential plan for $0 for 5 months. At month 6, I'll cancel. The $50 eGift card will just be a bonus.
I thought that initially, but gotta read the fine print (marketing is great at misleading without outright lying). The "Up to 5 mo" is only "when entering into a paid plan". Though, 2 mo of Essential + Unlimited Data is a pretty nice gift.

I already enrolled. The paid plan starts after your 5 month trial. It also says cancel anytime. Worse case scenario, I go into the paid plan for 1 month and cancel. 6 months for 39.99 is fine with me. If I get the 50 egift card (which I haven't yet), then I will still be ahead.

Nice, looks like the marketing people just don't know how to write. LOL

I'll sign up when my current free 30 day essential plan expires.

Fine print says offer expires 11/21/22.
I guess it's a customized offer. Mine says to claim by 11/29. (I am on the last freebie to 11/25). And it says 3 mo free but enrollment in a paid plan gets me 2 more. Also, the $50 would be an eGift Card.

Hi Voldar. I could try that, but doubt that whoever answers even knows about the limited free service. As a new owner when I fist contacted OnStar to get the free service, the rep didn't know about it until I spelled it out, as they were focused on a getting a sale.
Interesting, every time I called them they pretty much knew what I was talking about.

Push the blue button above your head in the car and ask.
The few times I've had the displeasure of speaking with anyone from OnStar -- I come away from the conversation feeling dirty and like I wasted 30 to 60 minutes of my life. Even when you clearly explain what you want or don't want from an OnStar rep, all they seem to know how to do is read from a script that's just them trying to sell you more services. There's a reason their business is only phone based and you can't add/remove/cancel via a web interface like a normal business. When I have to repeat 8 times in a row "cancel all services" to a woman that can't really speak english, all while she's trying to sign me up for more stuff? Hard pass.

Took delivery of an absolutely loaded 22 EUV, and they only want to give me 30 days of remote fob access? My 2017 Volt came with 6+ years of free access, and 2023's get 3 years of free remote fob. The fact that they can't have any sort of consistent or fair application of the rules that change month to month, is another nail in the coffin for them being worth even $1 to me.

Interestingly, I got another email today about the black friday offer, only this time it says offer expires 11/29. LOL. Also, received the email to redeem the $50 egift card of my choice today. (y)

When my 3 months of free OnStar came to an end I cancelled on the website to avoid paying for it.

Got another 'reminder' email titled CyberMonday. Offer end date now 12/1/22.

"
Offer: Offer expires on 12/01/22. When you select a monthly plan within 30 days of activating your 3-month trial, you’ll receive an additional 2 months of the Essentials Plan at no additional charge when you associate an approved payment method on file to your account and authorize recurring payments for your service plan. The amount and frequency of each recurring payment are based upon the service(s) and payment interval(s) you select from the options provided. After the trial expires, OnStar will automatically bill your payment method monthly at then-current standard monthly rates. Plans containing data will be billed every 30 days by AT&T. You may cancel at any time by pushing your blue OnStar button or calling 1.888.466.7827. May not be combined with other offers or retroactively applied. Offer subject to change.
