I just realized today that when you push the on/off button for the radio, it doesn't turn off the radio! It appears that it actually just mutes the radio.

I then tried holding the on/off button for a few seconds. The display asked if I wanted to go into low power mode. I clicked yes and the whole display screen went dark. Tapping on the on/off button again brings back the display.

Not necessarily news you can use, but I thought this was interesting.

Also, throughout this whole process, the radio station name and song playing continued to display underneath the speedometer behind the steering wheel - which indicates to me that the radio was on the whole time.

Hope this isn't old news, I couldn't find any threads on this.

The infotainment system is not really a radio as much as it is a computer with a radio app.

You can power it down by holding the power button.

If you run the drive battery down below 8%, the infotainment system may shut down to save some energy, too.

Since there isn't any post saying you can actually turn the radio off, should I assume that you can't turn it off? Yuck, I don't listen to the radio at all (sorry, not musically inclined). Having an option to turn it off at 8% of battery is probably a good thing but better would be to allow turning it entirely OFF.

I set the radio to SiriusXM channel 0, which is silent (I use Android Auto for music). That way, when the radio automatically turns on, it's silent.
If you turn the volume knob all the way counterclockwise, the volume is off. This is how we turned off car radios for the first 75 years. The battery drain of the infotainment system is miniscule.
