Hello Guys

Something odd happened today . A friend of mine send me a video on a text message , when I hit play the video plays on the main screen full size even though the car was moving at 60 mph on highway. Once I got home I tried opening up youtube on my phone and play movies, nothing happened. Again I opened my text message with the video and hit played , again the movie plays on the main screen automatically

So I can confirm the youtube video plays when is attach to text message but it does not play when youtube app is playing it

any help?

So what exactly do you want to happen? Do you want the car to refuse to play video when it's moving even when it comes in the form of a text attachment? Or do you want the car to play stand-alone video when it's moving?

The car manufacturers don't want you playing video when you're driving due to safety concerns. The fact that text message attachments play is probably a "bug". If you ask for a "fix" and someone actually does something about it, then it will probably be to disable video in text messages too.

Being able to play YouTube videos on the infotainment screen would be a great way to pass the time while charging up your Bolt. That would be a nice feature!

Do you have an Android phone or iPhone?

I dont want anything to happen , I m just trying to see if that is normal and if there is a way to play a youtube video other than through the text message. I have tried on park and it doesnt work , only works if the youtube video is attach on the text message ( park or D)

I assume that this is because there is no browser or YouTube app that is compatible with Android Auto.

Of course the workaround is to text the YouTube video to yourself...

was it a link to a youtube video or was the video attached to the text?
