On the 18th of March, 2021, I purchased a used 2019 Bolt from a dealer in Golden CO.
My mechanically inclined sons had been suggesting that I get rid of my 2001 VW Jetta TDI and get an EV. At first, I told them I didn't need it as I was working from home 100% for the last year and I only fill up the car once every 2-3 months. However, I wanted to get a vehicle for my husband for his 25 mile round-trip commutes to work to cut out the $240 monthly gasoline bill and I wanted something that would have a range over 200 miles for potential short road trips.
Lo and behold, shortly after purchasing it, I decided to travel to Alberta so I could be with my mom as she was experiencing some health issues. So I drove 1500 miles/2500 km to Red Deer, Alberta where I could quarantine 14 days. Check out my trip report.
