I own a 2017 Premier. During the first year while using cruise control the Forward Automatic Braking (FAB) would slow the vehicle to adjust for the car ahead and then speed up if they sped up. Basically acting like Adaptive Cruise Control. I've been told by the dealer that I don't have that feature and while they didn't say I was crazy, I sure felt dumb. Does anyone have some light to shed?

I experienced the slow down once approaching a left curve with a truck on the shoulder. It alarmed and turned off cruise and regen braking started and then I passed the truck and pressed cruise again. Later I turned off that feature other than the alarm. Maybe I should try to duplicate it someday and see if the cruise restarts. I doubt it.
I'll take all the alarms you like but not to do anything about it. Ok...I left the pedestrian braking on. :)

GM marketers must have come up with the term FAB. You have FAB if you have FCA that includes IBA. Not making this stuff up. It's right out of the Bolt's manual:
Forward Automatic Braking (FAB)
If the vehicle has Forward Collision Alert (FCA), it also has FAB, which includes Intelligent Brake Assist(IBA). When the system detects a vehicle ahead in your path that is traveling in the same direction that you may be about to crash into, it can provide a boost to braking or automatically brake the vehicle. This can help avoid or lessen the severity of crashes when driving in a forward gear. Depending on the situation, the vehicle may automatically brake moderately or hard. This forward automatic braking can only occur if a vehicle is detected. This is shown by the FCA vehicle ahead indicator being lit.

Wow, I have no confidence in it. Nor should I, it's the drivers responsibility. But I have had a few occasions where my perception is it should have kicked in and it didn't. Oh well, I'm still the driver, I'll keep driving.

I've had the lights flash and the alarm go off plenty of times. I've never come to the point of it automatically braking, but with the lights and alarm sound that's probably unnecessary since it'll draw my attention to the hazard and motivate me to brake on my own anyway.

Alphabet soup! ?. I experienced the FAB when a fire engine made an unexpected left turn from our common lane of travel. It felt like a brake boost, as I was not pressing the brake peddle that hard.

I've also had the pedestrian warning activate when the car is pointed at a yellow traffic sign with the pedestrian symbol on it !
