hi,
new owner here, just got a 19 ev lt. I know the LT doesn't have the heated seats / steering wheel. But my question is, are all the bits and pieces there and just disabled/unavailable? I noticed under the seats the electronics look like they are there. Bit of a hardware hacker here so I'm enjoying poking around this car. Another question, anyhow know how to determine the software version of the car and have the actual firmware file on hand? (probably linux based to some degree which implies they have to post the open source parts of it (per GPL) somewhere on their site, i'll go digging.)

Welcome to the forum @vaxman. Remember running Fortran on a VAX back in college. Seem to recall it was a 11/780. Sorry, not much help on your questions. You can poke around the settings on the infotainment system and there's some info on the software. If you check for updates it will tell you what version you're running.

The LT does have heated seats and steering wheel if equipped with the "comfort and convenience" package.

And no, if not equipped all the parts are not installed, unlike say remote start that only is a calibration (firmware) feature

In one of the setup screens of the infotainment is the software version, I run into it now and then.

@vaxman, are you the same Vaxman with the Vax Bar?

I'm guessing that some of the electronics you see in the seat is a sensor to determine if someone is sitting there. There is a lot of knowledge about where people are in this car. It's a bit spooky :)
