I thought of that. My phone has been synced since I purchased the car, but the tones have just started to occur. Furthermore, when I hear the tones I check my phone to see if any type of notification or message has occurred. I do agree that this is the most likely source of the tones, but have not been able to identify the trigger. Is your phone synced to bluetooth? Could be a notification sound from your phone.
To get rid of the variable, I would just turn off bluetooth from the phone for a few days and see what happens.I thought of that. That's the only way I've been able to adjust it as well. You're right - nav/turn-by-turn volume slider displays as gray, music slider as blue, and phone volume (i.e., calls) slider as orange. Music and phone are the easiest to adjust, as you can imagine. But adjusting the nav volume requires timing. Not to mention inadvertently adjusting it. It's happened to me several times where I'm in the middle of adjusting the music volume and the GPS spits out a direction. Then you have to wait for it to speak up again in order to bring it back to the previous volume. A little annoying. Is there any other method to do this?At least on my setup, if you adjust the volume while the navigation is talking, the volume changes apply to the navigation volume and not the music volume. It's even a different color on the display. I'm not sure if there's a way to do this offline or not. It's a little annoying sometimes, if you have directions that are wordy you can accidentally change the wrong volume.

Yes, you solved it. I turned off the sound to several notifications and that stopped the unidentified chimes/tones.Is your phone synced to bluetooth? Could be a notification sound from your phone.
