Is there a way I can turn off the auto dimming feather of the rear view mirror. I actually prefer being able to see the cars behind me. I know I can flip the mirror and get the camera working, but my preference would be to turn on and off the dimming feature.

Not that I am aware. However the jerryrig option is black electrical tape. In one car I flipped the mirror around 180?degrees so it was more up or down. Make sure wires are ok if you try that.

I just cut a piece of black self adhesive Velcro (fuzzy side) and covered the mirror's rear view light sensor. It's the little white plastic window at the bottom of the mirror.

No light means no glare so the mirror's self dimming function stays off.

You can use electrical tape.
