Today I used the rear wiper and wash for the first time on my new 2020 Premier. Now, every time I just start the engine, the rear washer and wiper go through their cycle. It's not when I am backing up, although for some reason that became set on ON in the settings. I set it to OFF for when backing up. Seems the stalk is faulty and sees a signal to wash the rear windows now all the time when starting the car. Will contact the dealer tomorrow, but otherwise am I missing something?

So for some reason the rear wiper/washer stopped running finally on engine start. All I did was fiddle with the shaft's rear wiper/washer buttons. Nothing was indicating any of them were on, though, so it's a mystery why it had started and why it had stopped.
