I've grown to appreciate the "Intellibeam" feature while driving on lonely roads at night - it means I don't have to be as mindful of turning my high beams on and off each time cars enter or leave my line of sight.

But on a couple of occasions I've been unable to get it to work - I press the "A" button on the left windshield stalk but the headlight-with-an-A icon doesn't light up and the high beams won't come on. I've checked the manual for the conditions under which the system is disabled (< 40km/h, oncoming traffic detected, etc. etc.) and none of them have applied.

The last time it happened I pulled over to the side of the road, turned the car off and on again, resumed driving and the system came on right away when I pressed the button.

Has anyone else seen this kind of behaviour?

I've seen similar symptoms on my 2018 Bolt. Intellibeam works, then stops working. Next time I use the car - same thing. I suspect the problem is temperature dependent, as it appears on cold evenings, after I've driven awhile and the car cools off. Once home, it warms up to ~10C in the garage and Intellibeam works again until I've driven a while.
Still observing the problem.

When I start my Bolt, and Intllibeam is not on, pressing the "A" button brings it up. If I notice I have no brights, and manually pull the lever to activate them, then back to low beams, pressing the "A" button is recalcitrant. I have to wait until I am back in a "no lights in front" zone, then activate Intellibeam. At least this what I think I have noticed. Maybe it is something else and I just correlated the observed response with the wrong cause.
