I too bought my EUV in January and as yet have not heard a squeal when using regen. Either OPD or paddle. I would suggest you take it to the dealer.
Take it in. Mine doesn't do that. And yours didn't when you first got it. Something changed and change isn't usually good.Hi everyone; I want to first thank this forum for being a great resource and a big help in my decision-making to get an EUV. I greatly appreciate the discussions and experience offered by everyone, especially to an EV newbie like myself.
My Situation: I picked up my 2023 EUV Premier in January, and by now it has about 1500 miles. I am very happy with the EUV overall. Though, something started at about 1000 miles that has worried me a bit:
Whenever I use the regen paddle, 50% to 75% of the time, rain or shine, cold or warm weather, regen would initiate with a low volume, high pitched squeal that sounds akin to certain worn out brakes of an ICE car. If I am heading to a stop and hold the regen paddle, this squeal would persist about 1 to 3 seconds before subsiding as the car continues its regen and slow-down toward the stop. I imagine for those who do not know Bolt is an EV, they would take it as a car needing their brakes serviced.
If I engage my normal brakes instead of the regen paddle, no squeal (apart from the brake sounds that has been the same as day one).
I tried one-pedal mode for the first time last week: As soon as I let go of the accelerator, the same high pitch squeal would take place.
Has anyone run into this before? Should I be worried?
