What about say during winter after the car has been sitting for the day? For reference I drive 33 miles each direction and only charge at home
Not sure what winter you face to have that behavior due to cold weather. I had some cold days (-25 to -30 C) when my car was outside for more than 8 hours, not plugged in, and I never seen the greyed out regeneration. Maybe if you leave the car for days unplugged in an artic cold weather, then the regeneration would be inexistent, but... I doubt it would be for the car sitting outside for 8 hours.

cromulent Makes me really appreciate the google word lookup. It's cromulent use of the function.
Anyone back to the subject?
All that was to say was already said. The greyed out regeneration means :
  • your battery is 100% SOC
  • your battery is so cold that the cells are unable to receive any energy back into them. And I mean -15 to -20 C battery temperature (not the weather outside temperature).
