As we're starting to get in to cold season. I can't judge the temperature in the car well enough to guess where to set the thermostat. I precondition the car before leaving in teh mornings and the cabin is quite toasty. I don't mind if the temperature is 61F, but what I don't want the AC to run to cool me to that temperature. Does the airconditioning /not/ run below a certain temperature? Or do I just turn off the Heat/AC and wait for the car to get too cold and turn it on again? I'm really digging the idea of the separate heat & ac buttons on the 2019 models.

I leave the temp on HI all winter and after precondition and starting to drive I put the fan only on directed to windshield and floor and it blows warm air left over from the precondition for about ten minutes keeping the cabin warm and the widows clear.

I have 2019 Bolt. The manual says that even thought the A?C light is on in Auto mode; when out side temp is low A/C it will not come on when adjusting the temp. It will come on if extreme defrost s needed. Dry air defrosts faster.
