I’m getting a bolt in couple months and I’m wondering if they have a standard nema 5-15 outlet in front of my house and was wondering if I can use that outlet to charge ? If so would I need to test the watt or the amp for the outlet to be sure it’s compatible of charging a ev Instead of starting a fire ? lol also is it possible if I could use some kind of extended cord for that ev charger ? The house I’m currently renting is pretty far from my drive way and was wondering if it is safe to use a extension cord with that ev charger ? Last question is Durning winter Time where it gets cold if you need to have it plug in on all time to keep the battery warm? I know the range goes down a lot during the cold season. if I fully charge my battery at A ev charging station and not bother charging it at home , would the ev not start cause of the cold ? I would install a level 2 charger to make it charge quicker, but I’m renting the house and the landlord wouldnt let me install one so lol.

For using the charger, make sure the outlet is the same type and the allowed current is at least 25% higher than what the charger is rated for, e.g. a 40A outlet for a 32A charger, for safety. Same safety margin applies to using an extension cord.

During winter, it would be for the best to keep the car plugged in to have the battery conditioned in an optimal condition. But even if the car is left on its own in the cold, it may use its own power to heat the battery so that it will not receive damage from the cold temperature, and it will not have a problem starting up.

5-15 is a regular receptacle. 120V 15A (really 12A). That is the level of the OEM EVSE. Set the car to allow that and you're good. What you really need to know is what else is on that circuit. If other things like a vacuum would plug into that circuit or are on that circuit then you would have breakers popping. If just the charger is on then you should be fine. Of course assuming a decent proper modern electrical installation.
Don't go cheap on an extension cord. The manual says not to though. I've used a 12ga extension and it seemed fine. Electricity doesn't like distance. The further you go the larger the cable.
The manual says to leave it plugged in below 32F. Maybe it depends on how long you're leaving it unplugged in the cold.

Your description of the house sound like a bad fit for home charging. 1. Having to run an extension cord, 2. Driveway meaning no garage meaning subject to rain.
