the EV1 was GM's first electric vehicle... now with the Bolt aiming to revolutionize mainstream electrocution (electrification?) should GM ape the old name and call the Bolt EV2?

It seems that the naming of the Bolt (if that is what they end up naming it) is a hot topic for discussion. The Detroit Free Press recently wrote about this topic as well.

"Some people think it's confusing," said Alan Batey, president of GM North America. "People are having some fun with it. It is generating awareness, which is good. It's so conversational."

"We're still in the decision phase," Batey said in an interview at the Chicago Auto Show last week. "It could go either way."

"We have a little bit more time," he said, as much as a year, to decide on the final name for the production car that will look similar to the concept.

So while the Bolt hasn't been decided on as the official name of the vehicle, it seems that they aren't coming forward with many alternatives as of right now.
