On my commute into the office today a service message popped up on my driver information screen...saying Side Detection System. Has anyone come across this before? Did you take it to the dealer?...and what was the outcome?

Could it simply be that the side cameras under the mirror need to be cleaned? Do I really need to visit the dealer?

Many people On this Forum (I have been here since May) have reported false positive service messages, including the blind-side detection system. Always see if it reports the same on multiple drives. Many simply "go away", usually by the next drive. Persistent warnings should elicit a trip to the dealer, especially where safety is concerned. Let us know how it progresses and turns out. We are all learning from each other.
