Steering Clunk

3532 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  NJ Bolter
I have an '18 Bolt EV with 7900 miles. Starting a couple of months ago I get an intermittent, but very noticeable "clunk" when turning right as the steering wheel returns to center. You can both hear and feel it in the floor under where your left foot rests. It occurs about 50% of the time and comes and goes without warning. I took it to the dealer and the service writer clearly felt it. I left the car there for 2 days and it was returned to me with the tech stating: unable to detect. Which is BS IMHO.

Has anyone else noticed this or have an idea what it is? My concern is that the steering will totally lock up at some point and cause an accident. Thanks

You know I think that maybe be it. I took out the Truxmat floor mat and no longer feel it. Thanks very much for your help!!!
