Success getting 3 years of complimentary "Remote Access" plan added to my 2023 EUV with OnStar!

Many thanks to advice from John MH over on the Facebook Chevy forums, I finally succeeded in getting 3 years complimentary remote access added to my account so I can now start/stop/unlock/lock my 2023 EUV from the chevy app again. At the time (Nov 17th 2022) of picking up my new 2023 EUV from the dealer, the chevy 2023 BoltEV/EUV builder website says it comes standard for 3 years on all 2023 EV/EUVs which I didn't get.

Here's my story on how I got it:

Saturday 22nd Jan:
I left a very polite message with OnStar executive relations team 1-877-248-2079 explaining that the remote commands for new 2023 EUV which I purchased/received Nov 17th, 2022 had stopped working despite the chevy website showing it comes as standard for 3 years on all 2023 EV/EUVs. I explained it may have accidentally not been added to my order when I purchased my EUV and could it please be added to my account

Tuesday 24th Jan:
I called OnStar regular# 1-888-466-7827 and once again very politely explained my situation as above. This time the representative asked me to stay on hold why they talked to another team. Upon returning they said that it can only be added by my dealer, and that they have added another 3 month free trial of "Essentials" plan which gets remote access.
At this point I asked if they had the internet/webbrowser infront of them and then I directed them to 2023 Bolt EUV: Electric Utility Vehicle | Chevrolet telling them to select 2023 model year, then on next page select my exact model (Premier Redline) and then click on the "Lean More" which pops up a dialog and shows the Standard: "3 Years of Remote Access".
After they saw this they put me on hold again to talk to the other team again. Upon returning they still told me that I need to contact my dealer since they had added 3 years free super cruise package instead. I told them I paid over $2000 for super cruise and no where on the website does it say you can only have one or the other. I then asked if they could please open up an elevated case on my behalf which they agreed to. They then said the dealer should contact their OnStar rep to go over the case request. I texted my dealer this info.

Wednesday 25th Jan:
In the am, my dealer let me know their OnStar rep was out today and that they will have to get back to me tomorrow. But then this afternoon I received a call from OnStar executive relations and a very nice person got straight to the point and let me know they have gone ahead and added the 3 years remote access to my account?! They added 3 x 1 year complimentary "Remote Access" plans each staggered a year apart. And they start after the other 3 month trial of "Essentials" I got yesterday so now I've got 3 years + 3 months remote access. Not what I was expecting?!

So if you also have bought a 2023 EV/EUV that did not have 3 years remote access in your plans on the day you picked it up from the dealer, you maybe be able to get it added if you follow my steps. During all my calls I was very patience, polite, kept my cool and gently led them through the website to show them it comes as standard and asked what they think.

Update:
Since I posted this on the Facebook forums a few more people have also had success getting 3 years of remote access added to their account. It looks like you can completely skip contacting your dealer and just call OnStar executive relations as they are the team that can add it for you. And remember honey gets more bees... don't be a Karen!

Cheers,
Steve.

Did you pre-order yours or purchase one off the lot? I read on this forum that if you preordered before a certain date, you will not get the 3 yrs. Personally, I ordered back in July, didn't get the 3 years remote access, nor is it mentioned in my window sticker
We ordered ours in Aug (part of SOC). Remote access wasn't listed on the window sticker. After reading the post on Facebook, checked in with our dealer to see what's up. He said, that when they order them, they don't typically add the remote access feature due to cost. Odd given it's considered as "included" on the Chevy website. Probably need to see window sticker from bolts that have it compared to those that don't (MSRP on otherwise equal builds).
Very odd. Not a good reason. I paid MSRP, the number the Chevy website listed of that particular trim. And it comes with the 3-year remote access. I can see it on my account.
what information did you leave with the executive relations team on your message? curious how they added it to your account already when they called you.

I ordered in July, built end of Sept and received in Nov. I'm not particularly tied to the remote access, but it would be nice.

Part 1 of my story explains exactly what I said in my message:

The person who called me back 4 days later added it while I was on the phone - it came through in an email as they were chatting me.
Also - my order/build/receive dates were very similar to yours - remote access is not a must have because you can use the keyfob if within range, but it sure is handy to do from the app!

I ordered in June, was built end of July, picked up from dealer November. It was not on my window sticker either, but it was the on the website in November with no exceptions on order or build date etc - standard on all 2023 EV/EUVs
Just got this done. 10 minute call with executive relations line. They just need the phone number on your my chevy account and your onstar pin. They can reset your pin, provided you can provide the information they ask. They didnt even question getting it added.

Now have the remote access until Feb 2026. now I just need to remember to cancel the 'essentials' plan when the trial expires.

Thanks for the info!
I just called to check and I supposedly do have 3 years of remote access, just the "premium" 1 month trial ends Feb 2nd .. so I guess I'll find out then :)

Thanks for this info on the exec team # !
I had called twice before & the "regular" onstar reps could not help, 1 even started a "ticket", & I got a call back a few days later that remote access was not included....
I just called the exec team number you provided, and as soon as I said that the EUV Prem should have 3yrs & something must have been coded wrong, she immediately knew about it and said "others" were calling w/the same problem ...
She put me on hold, & came back telling me that she had to add it as 3 individual 1yr $0 RemAcc plans, & I got an email confirmation as well. I'm happy :)

Is "VEHICLE LOCATE" included w/ remote access??

From my discussion with the agent, it's the "remote access" level that was supposed to be 3 years .. the "premium" level was for 1 month only, for my 2023 Bolt purchased Jan 3rd ...

Yes, we know, that's the problem, after the "1" month, many of us ended up with nothing, no remote access, & calling the regular Onstar numbers was no help as they claimed it wasn't included .......
For the folks that called and got it extended.... did you have to give them your credit card info, or did they just enable the remote access?

That is correct.

I was a little confused while leaving the dealer. I had pressed the OnStar button and they where going over things so fast I was pretty much saying yes, yes, yes, sure, here is my credit card info. Thought my credit card info was just going to be used if I had gone over the free trial and I would cancel it before then.

Come to find out I was paying for WiFi. The WiFi is not free.

Just called today and verified. 3 Years free remote access. WiFi (which I do not need or ever want) was canceled and they cheerfully refunded me.
Just called and talked to them. Said the team has gone home for the day (likely east coast) and she gave me one month of remote access right away and said they will call me back on Monday once they get back. Thanks for the tip SBroumley (and by extension John MH).

It's still on the website as of today 1-27-23. I called today and asked about it and was told they will open up a case inquiry and let me know. If I don't hear anything within a week I'll make a follow up call.

I had not given any card info.
As per my earlier post, they updated my account during the call to receive 3 free years of Rem Acc ..

I started the process today through the chat on Chevrolet website. Sent complaint # to my dealer to see if they could verify. Will keep everyone posted on my progress. Thanks to the OP for posting.
