The Chevrolet explorer battery dead after parking for more than 10 days and couldn't jump start the car. Was it a defect?

I suspect that Tom is writing about the AGM 12V Auxiliary battery under the hood. (The part that's not covered by the hold-down bar on mine says "AC Delco" on it). Perhaps AC Delco is shipping one with an "Explorer" model name now?

Assuming you're talking about the Bolt 12V battery, it depends on how long the car sat on a dealer's lot before being sold. Batteries can do dead that way. Doesn't mean it was a defective battery, but I would ask the dealer for a replacement under warranty. They should have kept it charged.

The other Tom has a great point. They tend to sit on the lot and can discharge. It just needs a little juice/charge and it should be fine. If you tried to jump it, you may have also charged it in the process.
