Just picked up a 2019 Bolt Premier; replaced a 2017 Bolt. Since picking up this car I've noticed an audible transformer whine when I open a door; seems to be stronger on the passenger side. I don't think I observed a similar noise on my 2017 Bolt; is this just something that happens in the 2019s?

I have a 2019 and there is no sound when opening the door if the car is turned off unless the car is conditioning the battery. You do not list a location so I have no idea what the weather is where you are. Hope this helps.

I'm in the California Bay Area so moderate weather and a bit of smoke. I noticed the noise today when in a cool (not cold) underground garage and I've also heard it in 70-80 degree weather while parked outside.

not referring to the low speed pedestrian alert sound are we? maybe it’s just more noticable on the 2019’s? you only hear it when opening the doors? but cant hear it rolling down the windows right?
just eliminating possibilities.

If you are blessed with good hearing and haven't destroyed it, and are under, say, the age of 40, you /may/ be hearing coil whine from various electronics waking up, or from the Headlights coming on.

I was thinking it was most likely this - it's a very similar sound to a CRT's whine. Glad it's not just me getting it.
