Am I the only one that thinks the Model 3 is ugly?! It's nice from the rear and sides but from head on the front reminds me of a bull-nosed frog or an ugly sting ray.
I wasn't impressed by the photos I saw of the Model 3, but now that I've seen them out on the road the front end doesn't look as awkward as I expected.

Even after seeing the Model 3 on the road, I still don't understand that snout. The looks of the Bolt is everything I had hoped for. Hope to buy soon and the look was a plus over LEAF II and Model 3. Actually like the i3 being so distinctive. But hard to beat Leafy McLeaf Face for distinctive though :).

I've argued your point on the Tesla forum many times, but some people can't seem to let go of the fact that their opinion on good taste (or good politics) is the final word. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder.

I am a Tesla owner (2013 S85). I had a reservation for the Model 3 before buying the used S. When my turn came up to configure the Model 3, I tried everything short of threatening divorce to get my wife to take the Model 3. But she HATED everything about it from the sedan style to the futuristic interior and the high tech dash computer screen. And she is a graduate of the California College of the Arts in Oakland.

Short story is that she replaced her Honda Fit with a Chevy Bolt and couldn't be happier with its look, performance and functionality. We are now an all-EV family, and we are extremely happy about it.
I have not seen a Tesla yet that I thought was good looking.

I have read several articles in which the writer has call the Bolt ugly. I beg to differ. While I do think it might lose a beauty contest to a Lamborghini, I sure wouldn't call the Bolt ugly. I and my family think it's reallycute. In any event beauty is only skin deep. One must look beneath its outer coverings to see the all of the Bolt's beauty.
I totally agree, it’s like an RC car nimble and quick. Sweet!!

People who so profess distain or anger toward a vehicle’s appearance (and then projects to the owner) have always bewildered me. Are they just shallow Or maybe those people who were bully’s in high school?

I’ve always loved the sleek lines and beauty of automobiles. But, like people, it’s how the car treats me is how that respect is truest earned. Also, I’ve always routed for the underdogs and having owned nearly 60 vehicles in my lifetime, my faves have been the beloved Aztek (x4), Scion Xb, Smart Four Two, VW 412, Peugeot 1007... and more.

the Bolt has a a certain high roofline and stubby nose similar to European cars which I find very attractive. The lines are clean and it serves the purpose it’s intended for. Some of that dislike of appearance may just be a subconscious dislike of electric. Some people get really mad about EV’s and the threat they pose to their lifestyle (whatever that is).

Me too. Then again, I drive a Prius. I'm not above driving unattractive vehicles, as I view them as appliances designed to accomplish a task.

Some might see a vehicle as an extension of their personality, but I'm not inclined that way. Never cared much to fit in when in elementary school and care even less as an adult. I may have been born old.
I am you... our other car is a Prius... and I don’t fit in. I’m a 55 year old EMO. Lol

The Bolt isn't ugly it's quaint. It's not good looking by any definition. I think the 2nd gen Volt was much better looking.

🤮
I agree with what you said -- I came from a 2017 Gen2 volt (RIP thanks to red light runner totaling it) I rock a 22 EUV now and very much enjoy the slightly bigger size, taller ride, and being incredibly comfortable all around.

I had my heart set on a sexy EV6, but they just can't build them fast enough. My EUV does exactly what I need, and being $20k cheaper than my EV6 order was a huge bonus.

The Bolt is not ugly at all....well at least the 2017-2021 models are not ugly. The 2022+ are not "nice" looking but I would not classify them as hideously ugly....just a little ugly.
