So I took my Bolt into the service center because I have been experiencing a daily problem where while running Android Auto, anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes into my commute, it just kicks out and returns to radio. The only solution is to unplug and re-plug. The dealer said they cannot replicate the problem. I have tried multiple cables and still the same issue. This problem does not occur in my other car with the same phone and cables. I did do another experiment, however, and I have not been kicked out yet. I tried running just the maps and not the podcast I listen to. Maybe it is coincidental, or perhaps there is something in AA that overloads the Bolt in particular when running multiple things? Does anyone else have any insight on this?

Which Android phone do you have?

I had this experience with the Pixel 2XL and the stock Android cable, among others. It eventually got much better when I switched to an Anker cable that had a much tighter fit in the USB port on the phone (
), but it was not perfect. Turns out the USB-C port was just crap.

I eventually bought a Pixel 3XL and the new USB-C port is MUCH tighter. I actually feel it click in when I insert the cable. I haven't had a single outage in almost 4 months.
